You should believe in god because you can't disprove it.

I think it's kinda sad that you feel the need to do this. I know some Christians can be really stupid, but what did they do to provoke you to this?

They did the same thing I did for the first 13 years of my life... believed in things that had no proof.

But since existance of God isn't something you can prove one way or the other, aren't you doing the same thing by believing there is no God?

No. First of all you can disprove certain gods. Gods like Yahweh have 1000 pages about them, and there are enough logical contradictions to show that he can't exist. As for a general god concept you are right, we can't yet disprove it. So the question remains, do you believe in everything you can't disprove?

Do you believe in flying toasters? How bout pink elephants? How about pink elephants that like to ride on flying toasters? Do you believe that the pink elephants that ride on flying toasters actually created the stars? Why not? You can't disprove any of it.

The point?

There is no logical, sane, rational reason to believe in a god until there is proof for it. Just because you can't disprove something doesn't mean you should believe in it. We claim it's not rational to believe in a god, and for now... we're right.

Care to be rational with us?

Why can't religious people

Why can't religious people get it through their thick heads that when there is no evidence one way or another whether something exists, the logical course it to assume it does not. Sad

Of course then they just

Of course then they just claim that we have faith that there is no god and are contradicting ourselves Sticking out tongue

But since existance of God isn't something you can prove one way or the other, aren't you doing the same thing by believing there is no God?

Its interesting how many people imagine an Atheist can believe in nothing. My reply is asking them if my empty fridge is full of nothing.
