Things NOT to do when debating Jesus’ existence or Christianity in general?
What should we not do when discussing issues such as the Jesus myth or Christianity or religion in general. By this, I don’t mean fallacies since we should all be wise enough to know this, but rather, methods of argument… things that may not actually be useful in every circumstance, or even could be used against us.
For example, is it always a good mention dates of scripture? (Assuming it isn’t a specific part of our argument.) Unless we are very knowable about issues such as dating, and since there are many different views, it could dig us into an unnecessary hole. Trying to say Nazareth didn’t exist is another possible no-no.
The idea of this thread is just to discuss ideas and methods that will make us more aware.
