One reason why theism is irrational is that belief in any higher power is usually rooted in fear of punishment.
The definition of fear
- a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid. Which is an emotion that causes a person to make VERY VERY irrational desisions. Any decision based off fear is therefore irrational. Making any decision based off a theistic rule set, irrational.____
