Sway: The Irresistible Pull of Irrational Behavior.

Has anyone else read this book?

Do you think the behaviors described are truly irrational? Or is something else going on? It made me reconsider what is irrational behavior, I think a lot of the behaviors are explainable more as natural biases of people with incomplete information.

Taxation is the price we pay for failing to build a civilized society. The higher the tax level, the greater the failure. A centrally planned totalitarian state represents a complete defeat for the civilized world, while a totally voluntary society represents its ultimate success. --Mark Skousen

Thats what I was saying in a few threads. It is interesting though what makes some people eager to think what they know or were tought about the world might not be correct but other people dont care or have to figure it out by accident. I think it depends on how depressed you are. If you are raised religious and our happy all the time you want quesitone it much. But if your depressed and fearful alot and raised religious you may lean toward being skeptical of it.
