This site is a haven for those who are pushing back against the norm, and a place for believers of gods to have their beliefs exposed as false should they want to try their hand at confronting us. Buy any item on AMAZON, and we'll use the small commission to help end theism, dogma, violence, hatred, and other irrationality.

Sounds about right.
Oy. Disney.
To be fair, it was only a matter of time. This would be one of those 'not so great things' about capitalism.

the heads up.Everything on the Internet that is now free, will be privatized and a small fee will be up to a corporate CEO to impose on the public. Google will be the next one probably. They're like drug dealers, they give it to you at first, free of charge and after you're depended on it they charge you, welcome to the " Brave New World" where everything has a price tag attached to it.
Err Youtube exists to make money
The internet exists to make money
In fact just about everything we do in life is to make money (or more accurately to get laid)
That is something wrong with people who have grown up in the 90's/00's with this absurd idea that you can get something from free in life. Whether its Facebook, Youtube software/music piracy.
I consider myself to be a moderate lefty but it really obvious the youtube/google is not a charity it has one purpose and one purpose to make money and that is their right
I don't see why it matters, I will do to youtube exactly what I do to this site only go to the parts I want to. The videos are still there you can still find them and the people who enjoy watching those videos will still watch them. where is the problem. Site expands past what it used to do and that is a bad thing? Who actually uses the popular tab anyway? I would think most people would type in what they want to see
Two bros shall never make eye contact in a devils three-way....two dudes
Google did it first. Then they bought YouTube and did it to them too. You're a bit behind.

Nothing on the Internet is free , no web page no bandwidth absolutely nothing is free it all has a cost. Its just a case of who pays for it.
Google would be perfectly in their rights to charge 1p/cent or a £100/$100 per search is they so choose as opposed to it being paid for by advertisers. I would fully support their right if they choose do . I also probably wouldnt use their service (which is my right).
Life is very simple if something isnt paid for by someone its stolen
I agree mostly. Everything has a cost, even if it's only the energy required to take possession of it.
On the plus side, advertisements on the internet could drop. They might just keep them to make extra money though.
If google starts charging I won't use it. My searches tend to be obscure and as a result fruitless. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for nothing.

It was developed by scientists to make long distance scientific research and collaberation infinitely more effecient. Then they were nice enough to let the rest of us use it. Drama ensued.

Laci thinks that these people are all drama queens.
The reason her opinion is relevant is because she has a fair amount of subscribers and because she is one of the most popular atheist youtube videoers.

No, that's Microsoft. You're thinking of Tim Berners Lee.
"Physical reality” isn’t some arbitrary demarcation. It is defined in terms of what we can systematically investigate, directly or not, by means of our senses. It is preposterous to assert that the process of systematic scientific reasoning arbitrarily excludes “non-physical explanations” because the very notion of “non-physical explanation” is contradictory.

I'm inclined to agree. The infrastructure is already laid down, all that's required is tax dollars to maintain it. There's no reason almost everybody couldn't have dsl or cable internet now. A lot of people would lose their jobs though... Price would be minimal as there would be no need to advertise insure equipment.
Of course I would also make some taxes optional. Don't want to pay the internet tax you say? Well you're in luck! You can waive service.
