"Smut for Smut" atheist campain hits college campus.
Offline Admittedly the title of the campaign is offensive, BUT AS IT SHOULD BE, in my estimation. This college group offered porn in exchange for bibles. KUDOS to them.
Now while I can see how it would offend Christians, it is not done out of hate, but more of a challenge to people to actually pick the damned thing up and read it cover to cover. It is a horrible book full of violence, infanticide, genocide and incest.
It's funny how Christians will rightfully condemn the Koran as a horrible violent book, but still are ready to gloss over the horrible stories in their own book in favor of cute farm animal stories and "turn the other cheek."
If Christians reading this get anything from my post understand this. It is alot like your version of "love the sinner not the sin". Atheists are not doing this out of hate. We do things like this as more like "WAKE UP! DID YOU ACTUALLY READ IT!"
I don't see how anyone with eyes can read the bible and ignore the story of Lott, or shebears malling children, or the first born of a society being butchered.....ect ect ect.

Normally Tucker Carlson cheeses me off to no end, but when he interviewed the president of this atheist club I thought he was very fair and level headed even though he disagreed. I doubt you'd see Hanity or Beck do what Carlson did.
Tucker is the type of theist I can like as an individual. Someone who doesn't sell fear and is merely questioning.

I once heard my mother speak a little like the comment I'm about to post. The girl commenting on Austin Clines write up of the smut for smut campaign is so severely sick it fuels me even more.
I think she's trying to say that her life is now meaningless. Is it not ironic that Christians always accuse atheists of believing their life is meaningless yet this woman has a god belief and her life is meaningless due to some people trading porn for bibles?

I wouldn't recomend burning books as a tactic, thats what Hitler did and thats what fundies did here in the states with Elvis records, and remember what the Muslims did to the Buddhist statues. We really don't need to take the same tactics fascists use.
These guys donated the holy texts to the local library. The intent of the stunt was to get people to actually read those books, can't really do that if you burn them. I think they should be kept around, not as literal history books, but placed in the fiction section where they belong.

How about this as a tactic. Nothing destructive. But go to the public library, pick up a holy text and move it to a shelf of fiction. Don't destroy it or harm it, just put it in the proper section.

If anyone could be a fan of this, it's you. I'm still surprised when atheists whine about things having to do with sex. The Christians are sexually repressed, but why do some atheists insist on us giving in to the same repression to make things more palatable for the theists. It's their hell, they should burn in it. It's their archaic sexual repressions, why should we bow?
