Yes, I WANT MY MOMMY!

It is fucking bad enough the Redskins are 0-3. BUT BUT BUT BUT DETROIT? WHAT THE FUCK?

The last time the Redskins lost to Detroit at home was around the big bang! My mother was 5 years old! Not sayen, just sayen!

 Detroit is really strong

Detroit is really strong this year, certainly the strongest they have been in recent memory. I only saw bits and pieces of the game, but my impression was that RG3 is not 100% yet. Look at the bright side, at least you aren't a Giants fan. I mean Carolina..... CAROLINA?!?!? Wow.

If, if a white man puts his arm around me voluntarily, that's brotherhood. But if you - if you hold a gun on him and make him embrace me and pretend to be friendly or brotherly toward me, then that's not brotherhood, that's hypocrisy.- Malcolm X

You don't understand man, this is the type of loss that causes a man to go to church and beg for mercy!

My mom was 6 years old the last time we lost to Detroit at home. 1939!

Who loses to a team in a city that has been the butt of jokes in the movie "Kentucky Fried Movie" in the 1970s and "Scary Movie" in the 2000s? Detroit is supposed to be the doormat, not us. That defied the laws of nature.

My kitchen manager scored

My kitchen manager scored free tickets to the Carolina/Giants game. He got his money worth.

You talk about the Giants

You talk about the Giants loss, but care to guess the most lopsided loss in NFL history. What was the score and who were the teams?

Don't feel bad. My Dolphins

Don't feel bad. My Dolphins are 3-0 and I'm just waiting for them to completely implode when they play the Saints next week on Monday night. Which by the way will start their slide to obscurity.

And your beloved Redskins blow cock because your owner Dan "I'm a complete moron with money and I think I can buy any thing" Snyder is a douche head.

I know he is a fucking dick, I wish the fans could auction him off to the lowest bidder.

*sigh* I'm not even going

*sigh*

I'm not even going to bother attacking football, how retarded mainstream sports are in general and that whole "macheezmo" posturing.  Bill Maher summed it up better than I ever could.

I quit watching football. I used to do the pools and picks for money but gave it up. It is pointless and only another delusional past time to occupy my boredom.

I instead watch some of the highlights or maybe a game where you have two great running backs or QB's going up against each other. The whole, DirectTV Redzone days are over for me. No need to know or what every single game in real time.

I also was recently wondering why football stars or rock stars or movie stars are so fucking rich? Why wouldn't people who have really important jobs make just as much money as those people? I'd rather pay a shitload of money to a nuclear technician who keeps the local power plant from exploding that a "Brad Pitt" actor who puts out sub par movies and can only act in one dimension as a character.

To pay your nuclear power plant employees $25 million a year you would have to pay approximately $1,000-$2,000 a month on top of whatever your regular power bill is. Would you be willing to pay that? Whereas Brad Pitt starring in a movie is only going to account for a few pennies of what you pay for your movie ticket. So would you be willing to pay $1,000/month more for your electricity and get a $1 discount on every movie ticket or dvd you buy? I doubt it.

The reason sports stars, movie stars and star musicians make so much money is that they provide their services to a large number of people. They don't get very much from any one person, often only a few pennies from each person they entertain. A nuclear power plant worker services far fewer people. Over 100 million people watch the superbowl and a nuclear power plant only provides power to 1-2 million people.

Rockefeller summed it up nicely,

Quote:
I would rather earn 1% of 100 people's efforts than 100% of my own efforts.

The same concept can be applied here. It is better to earn $0.01 cent from 100 million people than to earn $0.05 from a million people. Odds are you pay more of your income to the local power plant worker, teacher or whatever than you do to actors. The actors are just getting a smaller amount from a lot more people.

If, if a white man puts his arm around me voluntarily, that's brotherhood. But if you - if you hold a gun on him and make him embrace me and pretend to be friendly or brotherly toward me, then that's not brotherhood, that's hypocrisy.- Malcolm X

 You're both in

 You're both in luck...

There has already been a movie featuring major stars that work in a nuclear power plant.

Exactly.  Pampered celebrities don't make for a better world and don't keep us all from going back to the stone age and throwing around a football, beating the piss out of someone else, fucking up your knees, shoulders, concussions, broken ribs and risking paralysis doesn't keep the world running smooth either.  Try telling that to Cro-Magnon brained people like Beyond that try to rationalize their bullshit with semantics, though.

I like your pic.. very funny. Fits the situation.

Yeah, I can't debate with him on this subject because he already has it in his mind that I want to pay any one $25 million, which I never said.

I also don't want to pay $1000 for my electric bill but he has a calculator which is apparently whacked out.

Mistake on my part I was thinking of Carbon Emissions, sorry -

Mistake on my part  I was thinking of Carbon Emissions, sorry -

[Opps],  My number was the only that's completely off.  I was conflating the number(s) for Carbon Emissions from coal;  for the numbers for U.S. energy's electricity generated in coal plants, We will understand it better, but I dunno.

About 68% of the electricity in the U.S.A. was generated from fossil fuel My number was from  memory, it was closer to somewhere between 49% to as high as 57 % of the U.S. electricity came from coal. I think I was conflating numbers, with Carbon emissions (in the national's power producing coal plants).  Yes, Come to think of it, I am sure that is what happened.  "Clean energy" is not expected to meet the Nation's power needs, I understand though. Quite honestly, Not in this Thread,  nor getting in the middle of this either. Additionally,  MY focus  was only commenting on the remark to Cap (by Beyond).

And that is the problem with this country, everything is about money and consuming and cheap fame. We'll have that third world country in short order because of this mindset. We do have socialism, it is called corporate welfare.
