Ah, the gradual

Ah, the gradual deanthropomorphization of God, until nothing is left? Looks similar to the perspective of Mak Thorpe, who posted here a while ago.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, | As I foretold you, were all spirits, and | Are melted into air, into thin air; | And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, | The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, | The solemn temples, the great globe itself, - Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, | And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, | Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff | As dreams are made on, and our little life | Is rounded with a sleep. - Shakespeare

The Death of God movement was presented by Alteizer in 1965, 1966.  His friend he mentions in the article was my mentor Hendrikus Boers who was an atheist. The precursor to the Death of God movement was the Honest to God debate in 1963  by Bishop J.A.T. Robinson.  The Bishop said that the image of god had to go and needed secularising.
