RRS Team - Einstein@Home

I have created a Rational Response Squad team for Einstein@Home, which is a program that uses a computer's idle time to search for spinning neutron stars (i.e., pulsars) using data from the LIGO and GEO gravitational wave detectors. Please download BOINC, install it, provide the information it asks for, and when prompted for the address (or URL) of the project, enter "http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/" without quotes to get started searching for pulsars, and visit the RRS team page and click join and provide your login information (created during BOINC installation) if you're prompted to do so. To contribute to the project, just let the BOINC program run on your computer. The longer you let it run, the more tasks it can accomplish, which gets you credits (i.e., points). I've started us off with 3,327 credits. Please contribute to the search!

I just learned of the Rational Response Squad team for Folding@Home. This is similar to Einstein@Home, except it does various calculations on proteins to see how they fold and how they misfold to cause certain diseases. If you want to contribute to the project, just download the folding@home client, give it a username, and enter the number 79973 for the "team number."
