Richard Dawkins debate.

Richard Dawkins talks about faith-based schools in England.

Quote:
The role of religion in education is a subject rarely out of the headlines. Despite Britain's multi-faith society, schools are still required to include a collective act of worship of a Christian nature, while faith schools and religious academies have raised fears about community cohesion and covert selection.

Claims by some religious educationalists that faith is the best way to teach moral values is challenged by others in schools who believe religious morality to be outdated and dangerous.

Dimbleby is joined by Professor Richard Dawkins, Schools Select Committee chairman Barry Sheerman MP, and a multi-faith studio audience.

Kellym78's new group.

Kelly has created a new online group at OpEdNews.com

Quote:
Alright, I went ahead and created an atheist group, which also welcomes debate and is open to all, since OpEdNews seemed to be lacking one. I would like any submissions, thoughts, whatever from any interested parties. Hopefully, we can make this an informative and thought-provoking little section where we can also get to know some like, or not-so-like, minded people. Smiling

Yet another atheist blog.

Another atheist blogger speaks, this time about the death penalty.

Quote:
When I de-converted from Christianity, I was forced to slowly and thourougly review many of my fervently held beliefs in all aspects of my life. I've decided to go ahead and put some of them down on paper... well, sort of paper. The first issue I want to explore is the death penalty. As a Christian, I ardently opposed the death penalty in all forms. Though that put me in the decided minority of evangelical Christians, I came to this anti-death penalty conclusion based on my Christian faith.

I want to just talk about the ten top things that I've learned about people since I started performing my show, "Letting Go of God." I've been engaged in so many conversations with people. I get so many e-mails. A lot of people, you know, hate me, and are worried about God and all eternity and everything. But mostly I get fantastic letters from people who have gone through a similar experience.

Atheism & Autism?

So, are atheists stupid?

Quote:
As I agree with McCauley that theory of mind or social intelligence plays a critical role in theism, those who are weaker in these areas (relative to other higher-order reasoning) might be less disposed toward theism. I find it suggestive that women-who tend to have stronger social intelligence-tend to be more religious than men; and men are disproportionately represented among self-proclaimed atheists.
