In Orlando, you can feed the birds, you can feed the squirrels, but you can't feed the people...

I'm surprised that the Orlando city council hasn't proposed making a large walled-in area to dump all the homeless in.

That's a sad story. What

That's a sad story.

What are the homeless to do?  So many are homeless due to the sad state of affairs with our mental health system rules.

1)  They get into a treatment center and onto the proper medication.

2)  They must be discharged because they're doing OK.

3)  They are homeless and go off their meds (or cannot refill the prescription without funds or they're still sick and don't remember, etc.)

So now what are they to do when they're hungry?  Steal?

I think it's also a problem with our medical system in general. A lot of alcoholics are self-medicating for various reasons. Arthritis, depression, any assortment of ailments causing pain.

Another side effect of our poor mental health system is when mentally ill/deficient people get tossed into regular prisons.
