atheist music video
first, let me apologize in advance if this isn't the right section to place this post. i'm new, here.
I just wanted to share a link to the music video for my song "this man". it's my personal declaration of independence from christianity. the majority of songs i've written and recorded deal with atheism/politics in one way or another, but this one is more personal and a song i'm particularly proud of. you can view it here:

I greatly appreciate all comments, positive and negative.

Cool video!

and thank you, too, american atheist! i'm glad you liked it!
I enjoyed that. Great layered vocals and slick guitar solo. I've subscribed as "busstopfatang" (cause GUNT was taken) so I'm expecting more soon
Great work mate...

I'm usually not a fan of that style of rock/vocals, but I've gotta say, this is an amazing song. I really resonate with your lyrics, especially the refrain. The video parralleled it perfectly. Awesome!
The Enlightenment wounded the beast, but the killing blow has yet to land...

Thanks for posting!
"Hitler burned people like Anne Frank, for that we call him evil.
"God" burns Anne Frank eternally. For that, theists call him 'good.'
hey todangst,
"christians Believe, The Wise Know" is awesome! great sound, and excellent match-up of video and song!
i wouldn't even compare it my stuff because the styles are so different. yours is more retro/hip(maybe a little lou reed influence?), mine would fall under the "old school metal" category, i think.

Thanks. Your's is high quality man, gotta hear more. The only critical suggestion that I'd make is this: your song is more than just a song, it's a message too... so your vocals in your verses oughta be higher up in the mix, a bit stronger..... choruses are perfect level.
Wow. You are a good rock critic. I either try to sound like Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, or Alice Cooper. I'm pretty low tech with my sound (there's even a soda can drum break during the part with the dancers)
Hehe. Yeah, very powerful, very good. But you are leaving out that your melody is strong... while the song builds some of its strength from the metal sound, its an intrinsically good song at the same time - meaning that I think it would probably sound just as good in another form.
Particularly this part:
it's my life
it's my mind
i'm not blind
And it completely fucking takes off here:
i don't need anyone to tell me who i am
i'll bow my head to no one
the child you lied to has grown into a man
this man
In fact, when I heard this part, I was confused - figured you were just posting a song from an established artist that I just hadn't heard before....
Gotta share this with my friends who will be coming over in a bit, I'll have them sign on with their accounts and rate you.
Dude, you shoulda came here earlier to let us know about your stuff. Excellent work. Did you know that Sapient was looking for a rock/hard rock artist's music for the show (to counter balance the rap)? This oughta go on the show.

thanks for the great compliments! i just started making videos a few months ago, and i'm trying to get the word out, but self-promo was never my strong point.
i agree about the verses being a little low; mixing is a perpetual work-in-progress for me
i hadn't heard anything about Sapient or his show, before. any idea how i could send him a link?
thanks again!

You could just look up his name on the site and give him a PM.
I'll talk to him and mention the song too, I think it oughta go on...

Although it's not my kind of music (I'm an old fart), it sounded pretty good. But the only words I could understand (and I listened as closely as I could) were in the refrain, no doubt helped along by the fact that they were printed out too. By the way (and forgive me for this), no one is two words. "Noone" just looks like mid-day misspelled.
thanks, largo!
well, now i can't say that noone ever told me how to spell no one
