Christian Spam on Myspace
My wife and I have both received invitations, on our Myspace accounts, to join a christian group. We marked the emails as "spam". At first I thought I might have drawn their attention because of my "godless america" mp3 and my RRS banner, but my wife has no such christian attracting material on her page.
Anyone else getting spammed by these losers?

I got a friend invite from "Dare 2B Different", a girl who is witnessing via her myspace. She tried to act like she was just being a friend despite our differences and swore she would not talk about religion with me.
Usually once a week she will e-mail me with "how to strengthen your faith" e-mails. Her last one told me that Lee Strobel's new "book " was a great way to strengthen my faith. I sent her an e-mail back telling her to check out www.caseagainstfath.com. She amuses me.

I only get requests from Atheist profiles on myspace.
The only spam I get is from Musicians, and from Porn site ads. I could probably use some more Atheist friends on there anyone want to add me? www.myspace.com\magusim
Sounds made up...

No, I am not angry at your imaginary friends or enemies.
ditto here. i get 2-3 requests per week from people that state they are atheists. i figure they either found me on the share your myspace thread here or through other atheist profiles.
Gasp!
You mean I don't have to Rent-A-Pal anymore?
I can get 'friends' by creating a MySpace account?
My mind boggles!

There have been a lot of christians labeling themselves as atheists apparently to try and "reach" us poor atheists, bastards.

I got spam from s group called "Christians defeat atheists."
Funny you mention this because shortly after I posted to this thread yesterday I got spam from the same group.
I wonder if any Christians ever start to question their faith when they happen to stumble upon logic while searching boards like this for atheists they can convert.
yes, i've gotten one from them, as well. i should start a group called "atheists defeat spammers" and invite them, in return. idiots..

I got an invite from them too. I declined.

There are two groups on Myspace that mock the RRS. Both of them only have one member. That feels great.
A place common to all will be maintained by none. A religion common to all is perhaps not much different.
Got this as well. Yay for us ;p

Well, there you go. I was unaware of how Myspace works. I try to avoid these things until they become fully developed rather than in their infancy. Soon, I will buy a horseless carriage and consider putting in one of those television-vacuum tube sets.

I don'y get friend requests that often. I got tired of spam friend requests, so I changed my requirements so that someone has to know my last name or e-mail address to add me.
On my profile page in two places I give my e-mail address, so anyone who bothers to read it will find it and can then add me. I guess not many people bother to read my page, ha.
But anyway it is www.myspace.com/otchrissy . I think I'll turn off the setting where a user must know my last name or e-mail for a bit and see what happens.

Hey that was pretty cool, I posted my myspace and turned off the last name/e-mail requirement and I got 4 friend requests from fellow atheists. I feel so special now ::grin::

Woolworth's is selling portable music boxes small enough to carry about your person. Perhaps you'd like one of those as well? They're just swell.
Good night, funny man, and thanks for the laughter.
I was one.
After this discussion I'm going to be more careful about accepting requests - but even if someone does just change their religion it is easy to take a few seconds to read the rest of the profile to see how legit they sound.
I got one of those today -
"Hi Jeff,
You have been invited to join the Christians Defeat Atheists group on MySpace."
My first thought was "Boy, did you get the wrong number".
Part of me wishes the group was real so I could join and mess with them.

Wow, I never have gotten a friend request from a religious organization. Perhaps my myspace name turns them off. I always get friend requests from those slutty looking hooker girls who want to sell me modeling pictures or something. I have no idea why they email me.
If god takes life he's an indian giver
i get those all the time, it's some softporn website that's setting up fake accounts on myspace and spamming a lot of people. you just have to mark the email as spam. the funny thing is if you go to the myspace link for those "girls", you see a bunch of macho/players who have accepted them as friends and posted comments about how hot the girls are. what a bunch of morons
