Atheist billboard targets slavery in the bible.

An atheist billboard targets slavery in the bible in response to a state senate calling for "The year of the bible".

What right does government have in making public proclamations as to which holy book should be exalted? Please tell me what country we live in?

Are these state congresspeople going to hail the Koran next year? How about a "Year of the Torah"?

This sickens me to think this type of shit still goes on today.

But the above link I think rightfully points believers back to a very horrible book that has constantly throughout it's history condoned sexism, genocide and slavery. It is the same mentality that perpetuates the tribalism in the Middle East with Islam and the Koran.

TO THE THEISTS reading this, please read your books, but do so without a hand up your back.

Yeah, I would be just as pissed, if not more, if I was Jewish or Buddhist or whatever. And I'm always amazed by the selective literal interpretation

of Christians. I think that pisses me off more than any other irrational arguments they have.

On a side note about billboards I saw a funny pic the other day.  In front of a highway truck stop store there stood 2 billboards. One was for the store

saying "Adult movies sold here". Next to it christian protesters put up one twice the size with a picture of Jesus saying "God is watching". The bottom of the

pic says "Jesus watches Porn too".

The people who get elected to office and are zealots will do every thing in their power to promote their religious beliefs while trampling other belief systems.

It is unavoidable because being on top is part of our evolution. But it does make me sick that there are not enough humans who understand their own psychology as to why they do what they do. All we can do is try to keep any monopoly at bay.
