Offline Hello and greetings to all the debaters, atheists, theists, and time wasters. My name is Joshua and I am a radical atheist. I spent most of my life being brought up in a suffocating private Lutheran school in Denver, CO. After years of having Jesus crammed down my throat in a manner that borders on pornographic I was able to escape my delusional theist shackles and become the proud thinking atheist that I am today.
As such I have decided to bring my story and whatever knowledge I may be able to glean from the universe into the battle of minds that has been raging between science and religion for years. I am currently in training to enter the education profession as a science teacher and will be using my knowledge of science and the absurdities of religion to break the holds of indoctrination on young minds.
With this in mind it should be known that frequently I inflict colorful language that may occasionally contain vulgarities. (My favorite euphemism for the christian indoctrination process is claiming that it is the Rock hard Cock of Jesus being jammed down someone's throat.) That being said I welcome discussion on almost any problem as well as any pointers on how to correct my grammar.

I came from a strict, heavily indoctrinated Catholic background. So, I grew up eating Jesus and drinking his blood, but not being able to eat meat on certain Fridays of the year. Rather odd, now that I look back on it.
Took me a few years to get over all of that theist garbage that literally affected my mental health.
Today, I am a proud Atheist and pretty damn quick to let most people know it. Thanks to this site and writers like Dawkins and Hitchens, I am no longer fearful of debating any theist nor do I shy away from some of their tricky arguments they believe to be so clever.

I try to plant the seeds of doubt, too. I'm currently tutoring in science and math. I avoid any direct discussion of religion (not my place), but I do not shy away from teaching critical thinking, skepticism, logical thinking, relentless questioning, and the scientifically known facts about reality. Those are the tools that will immunize them from religious dogma in the end anyway.

Personally, thanks at least in part to a sceptical Dad, I never bought into the faith crap, and have only got stronger in my 'anti-theism' as I have lived on.

On the subject of my future career I have already realized the inevitable troubles that will occur when I join the teaching ranks. I imagine that I will face those issues in a loud and bombastic manner, and if i have to martyr these 3 years of educational training in order to stand up to the religious mindset sweeping the United States then so be it.
