99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko8SDv0CsiM
check this version out, I love that song.
Other then that... I guess I'm not a big 80's fan, short of some GNR and some Metallica when they were still rebels and cool, not the greedy fuckers that they turned out to be.
But that Goldfinger cover ROCKS!

YUCK! I hate the 90s uber Greenday motif. That sucked. I know I know, taste, that was just not my thing. I like the original.

fair enough, the original is cool too.
Let's see if we can find some common ground, nowadays I listen to a lot of classical music. I have the 'Lord of the Rings' soundtrack on from grooveshark.

I grew up with a lot of Beethoven, Vivaldi and the like when I was a child, from my grandparents mostly. My dad listened to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and the Beetles so I love that stuff. I listen to pretty much everything. Just not much 80s lol, not sure why, also most country music sucks in my opinion.
I find myself gravitating towards opera lately, which is kind of odd since I wasn't a big fan until a few years back.. I love Verdi's Aida, and I have a 24/7 classical music on my radio that I listen to about 70% of the time.

I do like some remakes.
I liked Pat Benatar's version of the Beatles "Helter Skelter"
AND David Lee Roth's remake of the Beach Boys "California Girls"

Some great 80s tunes include:
Frankie Goes to Hollywood Relax
Baltimora Tarzan Boy
Laura Branigan Self Control
RATT Round and Round
Yes Owner of a Lonely Heart
Tarzan Boy is especially unique & different, RATT is kick ass rock/metal, and music that good doesn't exist anymore!!

Nena made a new version of 99 Luftballons.
That was good. Did she do an english version of the remake?

Nice song but I prefer the original video. How does she still look that young?? Wasn't that made in 2009? I saw a recent pic of her in concert and she looked a lot older.
