Woot! For the Midwest!

 

I'd be curious to know the demographics of the volunteers.   I know I put in quite a bit of volunteer time.  I'd love to know how much of the Midwest volunteerism is of a theistic bent.

The percentage of people age 16 and older who have volunteered in the previous year for each of the 50 largest metropolitan areas. The Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency, used Census Bureau data to determine the average volunteer rate for each metro area from 2004 to 2006.

Well, considering the majority of the population is Christian, I'd say the majority of the volunteers are too.

Well, Seattle & Portland are

Well, Seattle & Portland are #5 & #6, and the PNW is a pretty godless place as far as the US goes.

I'm kinda surprised Seattle so high. I'm of the opinion that Seattlites are kinda snooty, but maybe that's because I only go there to watch indie rock bands play.
