What's the story with your screen name?
I saw this question on another site and thought it would be interesting here. Mine is simply the mascot of the band The Accused. I wanted to use her because she's not a pretty pushover.

Funny, a friend of mine named her son "Christopher", but didn't want him called Chris. Hence, he ended up with "Opher".
You must have the long version of the name.

Yeah, although I go by 'Chris'. I thought I'd give the second part a use! lol

Its the name of my D&D character, a free-spirited thief who was always trying to tear down civilzation (along with drinking and getting laid of course.)
I've used it so often its pretty much become my internet handle.
Mine is from a track on my bands album which was originaly just a soundscape demonstrating the effects of religion on war. Later we added narative.

Eight Foot Manchild was a free improvisation music group I was with. I still perform with them occasionally. The name itself was inspired by none other than Nostrodamus "Bull" Shannon (played by Richard Moll), the bailiff on the 80's sitcom Night Court.
I am an Occupational Therapy doctoral student.
I am not your therapist for several reasons.
1. A former friend has some health problems and when I tried to convey to her some advice I had learned in school, she got angry at me and said, "You're not my therapist, you don't know best, *I* do" - I am not sure what made her so angry but hey. What do I know about anatomy, I guess 1 year of anatomy classes means nothin
2. One of the points of OT is to build a relationship with your client so that the two of you are working together on even grounds. I don't want to play the "doctor role" while my clients play the "patient role" where they are expected to do whatever I say and see me as an authority figure while they are subservient. My relationship with clients should be a partnership.
3. I am still a student, so I really am not your therapist.
4. I am the type of OT who will take on less of a therapist role and more of a problem solver role. I want to change society and the environment, not the person with a disability. Therapists see the person as having a problem and work to solve said problem by changing the person. I see the person as having a problem caused by the environment around them.
Complicated enough?

I dont have a story for my name. I have a different name on every forum I go to.
Uh ...
I like waves.
And I'm a freak.
This name comes from a long line of mustards, starting with mean Mister Mustard on Abbey Road. You may have heard of him. Did some work with The Beatles.
My name here and on IG derives originally from the term 'natural selection'. I like how the adjective turns a mystical thing into something that can be comprehended. So when a theist claims there is a 'design' to the universe, I can judo-twist it around and say, yeah, you're right, there is design, but it's natural design brought about by natural selection. Another example I've found useful is to give naturalistic explanations for what many people call 'spirit' or 'energy', and that is usually explained by memes. For example, the Holy Spirit can be interpreted as being the memes of the Bible, and when you're 'filled with the Holy Spirit', it just means that you're having a wild fantasy experience based on the memes/mythology of the Bible. Demystifying things with naturalistic explanations.
Also, I chose natural because I hate the straw man interpretation of materialism which pretends that materialists only believe in matter (and energy). I also believe in space-time and forces, too, and while that's compatible with modern materialism, most theists aren't aware of that. So, natural implies I'm a naturalist; I believe in all of nature, not just matter/energy. Currently, I refine that definition even more to say that I'm a physicalist, which means that I think nature consists of the entities that have been discovered by physics/science.
On YouTube, I chose a different name, wonderist, because I want to use YT to discuss/promote my newer philosophical ideas which I call wonderism. Wonder has three important meanings here. First, it is a feeling, the sense of wonder, from which all 'religious experiences' are based. Second, it means to wonder, to ask questions and never be satisfied with hand-me-down answers that don't add up. Third, it implies that we can create wonders using the knowledge we gain from the first and second senses of the word.

How is this a straw man?
Space-time is made of matter and energy, right?
Define 'forces'.
But nature is matter and energy. What else exists within mature other than matter and energy?
I don't mean to nitpick, just want to clarify.

My Artwork
My screen name is that of a Celtic God.
Cernunnos was a horned God of fertility or produce. The earliest found depictions are from about 400BC.
I've always enjoyed Celtic music and researching led me to read about Cernunnos. This is not my usual internet handle...a mislaid God seemed more fitting.
I often say that when you can measure what you are speaking about, and express it in numbers, you know something about it; but when you cannot measure it, when you cannot express it in numbers, your knowledge is of a meagre and unsatisfactory kind.
Master Jedi Dan - or masterjedidan, sometimes I use spaces, sometimes I don't. I'm a big star wars fan, and I just kind of thought of the name one day. I'm the only masterjedidan on the web -- search google for "masterjedidan" and the only results are me.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization.
Because most modern materialists don't define it so strictly.
Nope, the speed of light is a property of space-time, not matter/energy. Space-time is a distinct entity in physics.
A force is what defines the interaction between different forms of matter/energy in space-time. Forces are distinct entities in physics, with the property of strength (of the force/interaction).
Not only space-time and forces, but also quantum/relative state.

After watching Jay and Silent Bob strike back, one of my friends was like: Hey you are like silent bob, you don't talk that often, but when you do everybody listens to you and you make up for all your slience. Btw, I didn't like the movie that much haha.

I wanted to use Willem, my own name, but it was already in use. So I used Big Willem, a nickname of an ex-leader of the hells angels in Holland. It is funny to me because I have no tattoos, my steele horse is a bicycle and I believe in neither hell nor angels.
