RATIONAL RESPONSE SQUAD FEATURED IN FINNISH FREE THINKER MAGAZINE

Jussi Niemela contributes regularly to Vappaa Ajattelija (Free Thinkers) magazine and decided to run a story on American Atheists featuring the Rational Response Squad, Star of Rational Atheists and the personal account of Becca and myself as atheists in the USA. Here are pictures of the article. The first page talks about Brian, Kelly Rook and Mike and the founding of RRS as well as other aspects of RRS. Then it goes on to talk about the Way of the Master Debate with RRS and the Blasphemy Challenge, followed by the story of Star and why she started RationalAtheists.com and the last page deals with the personal accounts of Becca and myself. Enjoy, if you can read finnish.

This is the cover of the magazine.

This is the first page of the article:

This is the second page with the picture of My Fiancee Becca her kids and me.

This is the third page wiht Star from Rational Atheists:

This is the last page which discusses Becca's and my story.

Very cool article. Kudos to

Very cool article. Kudos to Jussi and everyone involved. As the incessant stream of religious and nationalistic nonsense flowing from the Bush regime and the Religious Right is increasingly seen in Europe as the only voice representing America, reasoned views like those expressed by LeftofLarry in the article serve as a reminder that the American tradition of liberty and reason is still very much alive.

I agree.  Anyone out there that could/would put together a translated version?

I'll ask Jussi, but, I'm I know what it's like to translate and it's quite a pain in the ass. He may just come here and give a short synopsis.

According to Jussi, the magazine is the leading Finnish atheist/agnostic magazine, published by the society of free thinkers.

I'm sorry to be labour-averse, but count me out on this one. Translating a text as long as this one into a foreign language is a pain in the posterior regions to begin with, and when you do translations in real life you avoid like the plague doing the same on your free time (although YMMV).

It is a pain I know it.  I'll post a short synopsis..shortly.
