Words with no realistic meaning

If spirituality and the supernatural do not exist, then a number of words mean nothing, and can only have social meaning as social concepts and ideas, rather than realistic "existing" things. Pope is not defined as someone who has a holy connection with god, but as someone believed to have a holy connection with God. Baptism is not defined as being blessed by water, but as a process of being dumped in water with the belief of being blessed. Holiness does not mean spirituality, but is a concept or belief that spirituality exists. Divine command or Divine authority are ideas and not existing things. Piety would not mean "to act spiritual" if spirituality does not exist, but would instead mean "the idea of being spiritual."

There are only human definitions with associated concepts, such as "man who wears robes and is believed to be holy" rather than "man who is holy." Djinn or Angel would be "human belief of a supernatural being" rather than "supernatural being." Yad would be "stick," tabernacle would be "designated place." Church would be "building," prayer would be "thinking to self with belief of divine communication," and other words are ideas that have no realistic meaning other than a set of ideas or beliefs. The word "excommunication" is not an existing thing unless you recognize the idea of it. The word "martyr" is the perception of death as attributed by humans, but "martyr" itself does not exist beyond an idea. The "prayer rug" assigns nonexistent spiritual significance to a rug. The definition of these words identifies the idea of a thing, but the thing itself does not exist, or a mundane object (room, day, clothing, building) is given extra spiritual significance which does not exist.

Maybe you mean they don't

Maybe you mean they don't have a universal, objective meaning.

Meaning is tied to use.  In

Meaning is tied to use.  In a sense, I agree that the words would not necessarily have referents, but they would still have meaning.  we use 'prayer' for example, to mean to talk to a divine being (or whatever).  It doesn't mean that the divine being is there, but that's what the word means.

I'll fight for a person's right to speak so long as that person will, in return, fight to allow me to challenge their opinions and ridicule them as the content of their ideas merit.
