This is just getting

This is just getting ridiculous.  Even really stupid people ought to be able to see that banning a book about banning books is... um... what's the word...

Geez, there isn't even a word.

Let's just make up a new

Let's just make up a new word or something.

All I can think of right now is "Bodhitharta" for some reason.

How about "Witness the real" syndrome?

Outright stupidity like

Outright stupidity like this makes my brain hurt. "Talking bad about our firemen?" Somebody needs to work on their reading comprehension.

BTW, I'm Justin. Just found this site, and I think it's great.

Some crazy Christians want to ban the book Ferenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury because the book has some part where they burn Bibles.

Don't forget about the part where he buys cigarettes, or is drunk. How terrible!!! Burn that book! What a fucking mental midget. This makes me sooo angry (I hate stressing that by the multiple o's but... I'm mad). That happens to be an excellent book and the school gave the kid another assignment so they should just accept that instead of getting their religious panties in a knot. Better yet, send the fucking kid to catholic school or fundamentalist boot camp or something. Ok, sorry about the rant, but books are very important to me.

Ferenheit 45 is just

Ferenheit 45 is just fiction, but you know how serious Christians are when it comes to fiction. Wink

I'm surprised that they don't want to ban "Letter to a Christian Nation" or "The God Delusion", though.

How funny that someone would want to ban Fahrenheit 451. The whole story is about burning ALL the books and having total censorship.

Funny thing is, that used to *include* the bible.

I remember reading about

I remember reading about this event a month or so ago when it first came up.  I really wish that the school board would just laugh this guy out of the room.  There is no need to waste their time an money on such a rediculous complaint.

What a bunch of morons. That was one of the best books I've ever read. They obviously need to read it too.

Bibles are usually printed

Bibles are usually printed on very thin paper and churches are usually dry/dusty places so Bibles burn very good.

But that is not the official reason for the paper being so thin and for churches being dusty.
