Coronavirus: Pastor urges people to donate stimulus checks to churches

https://news.yahoo.com/coronavirus-pastor-urges-people-donate-175521052.html

BROTHERS! The Lord has reached deep into your soul, with his blackened fingers of deadly disease...YEA! Just as he visited plagues upon the firstborn of Egypt! He has done this, O BROTHERS, so that his Holy Ghost-filled, fire-baptized, triple-crown, double-rock-on-the-side-of-the-road-to-Jericho ANOINTED and CHOSEN Mr. Dollar-and-a-half...er, excuse me, brothers...Mr. Donald J. Trump would OPEN HIS COFFERS...YEA!...open the granaries even as did JOSEPH in the years of FAMINE...to give you...oh, praise Gawd...have mercy...the PRIVILEGE to give of YOURSELF, your GOLD, your LIVELIHOOD to GAWD'S HOLY, DIVINE, ONE AND ONLY UNIVERSAL CHURCH...Lawd, have mercy, I might preach this mornin'...BROTHERS, your almighty DOLLARS...er, I mean DIMES...er, I mean DEMONSTRABLY DIVINE CHARITY...oh, brothers, I don't ask it for myself! As long as my ol' Escalade starts in the mornin', Jesus and I will keep pluggin' along...no, brothers, it's an OPPORTUNITY to better your SOULS! But the Lord is a very, very busy man...sweet weepin' Mary under the cross, can I get a WITNESS???

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

 I can appreciate your

I can appreciate your criticism and blasphemy of religion in your OP. But please, the philosophies/ ideologies of the 3 guys on the flag in your avatar, went on to allow a vile monster in Stalin to abuse Russia and commit mass murder.

The more I think about labels such as religion, political party, economic views, philosophies, ideologies. Those are all human constructs, and are really nothing more than a human argument to gain control over resources.

Anything can be abused and exploited by humans. And humans were competing and fighting over resources long before words like "capitalism" "socialism" "communism" or even "Christianity" existed. Competition between humans existed even before the era of human writing or citty states.

bri, i've had this avatar

bri, i've had this avatar for about a decade now. little slow on the uptake, aren't you? anyhow, my views and arguments on marxism, marxism-leninism, and how ithey relate to stalin have been copiously detailed on this site, so i'll refer you to the large body of posts i've made over the years. just do a google search of the site. i'm too old, tired, and busy to go over all that ground again, especially since at this point it'd be like arguing in an empty stadium.

 First off, my name is

First off, my name is Brian, not "bri". I am too old and too tired to explain that to you.

Now, while I find the global corporate world abusive, it does not change that "capitalism" is NOT a form of government, and even closed state Communist China makes goods the rest of the world buys and it also has billionaires.

None of that has to do with the iconography those faces are attached to Stalin, right or wrong.

Marx had the right idea of valuing workers, but not much more than that. Stalin took their ideas and used it to sell populism to gain power. If you want to claim that Stalin bastardized their ideas that doesn't change the outcome that he did.

NOR does my pointing that fact out mean I love the abuse by the corporate world in the west. Like I said, China is ALSO a capitalist country.

 again, brian, i've

again, brian, i've addressed all that before, probably from you. if you're interested in my response, it's on the site. if you're interested in picking a fresh argument, i'm afraid you'll have to stick with exc.

didn't mean to take the piss by getting your name wrong. then again, the number of times you've called me "i.w. beck" or some other weird thing probably makes us even on that.

"Bri" isn't a typo or

"Bri" isn't a typo or myspelling. It is a short nickname other Brains may use, but not me.

I have ADD and mostlikely slight dyxlexia. And "Iwbiek" isn't a common name I spell on a freqient basis.

Still does not change that the economic views of those three are a cure all for humanity anymore than 40 years of Reagan's failed trickle down has been a cure for America.

again, not addressing that

again, not addressing that here. every statement you're making, you and others on this site have made to me before, and i've addressed them, sometimes in great detail. i see no reason to write that book again.

I agree, you have address'd them for over a decade. But you still don't get why those icons are not good salespeople.

You have an avatar you use, just like I have "ABBA" as my avatar. If you want to split hairs, do you stupidly think I don't have that avatar because I think they are great?

Why billboard anything if you didn't buy into it? I buy into ABBA otherwise I wouldn't have them as my avatar. You buy into those three guys otherwise you wouldn't have them as your avatar. Techically you are right, just by having that avatar, you are not "selling" but you are advertising, which is the same as a car dealership TV ad. The physical sales people are on the lot, not TV, but the ad is there to get you to go to the dealership.

jesus christ, you must be bored out of your fucking mind. i know i am, for even responding to this asinine shit.
