I say, this may be a fractured experiment. The two different metals may very well act differently. And also, will the tow (tow would be OK but try "two" objects be affected by the natural gavity of the space vehicle itself. Did Einstien specifically state that two different materials will act the same or two of the same material will act the same. The two frefall abjects may not act the same if they are of different materials or densities.

Materials and densities shouldn't matter, it's mass and velocity that matter. There is no atmosphere in space to cause friction and make density and material matter. The same thing could be done subsituting the titanium for feathers and the platinum-rhodium for rocks. In fact they probably should have done that. This is wasting perfectly good metals.
