Ben Carson challenged by an Iowa atheist voter.

Watch as evolution denier who should not have a medical degree just for that, doges this atheist's question  on top of lying about the founders intent.

so someone is incompetent at

so someone is incompetent at medicine because he doesn't believe in evolution? that would disqualify my old family doctor who, thank you very much, i'd rather keep. he's helped me out of some really miserable illnesses more than once, despite being an evangelical.

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

Politicians

cannot be expected to agree with Atheism. Whether the founders intended this or that is moot. Religion is threaded into and throughout society and to many parts of society that are dependent upon religion, be a religion true or false. (A religion cannot be based on truth regardless anyways)  It's just as, loading a program into your computor, and then removeing it. If it's become attached to other programs removing it will damage or remove parts the operating system. They can't recognize Atheism or condone it because it doesn't fit the system. A non religious society will work just as well or even better then a religious society, but once religion is incorporated into a system it cannot be removed without destroying what it's attached to. The religious incorporated systems are not based on "Truth", and interjecting truth destroys the systems in place. The only thing they can do is---recognize one's right to be an Atheist.

For 1000s of years societies have been constructed on "mistruth" superstition and cognitive invention, (IE-artificial person- legal fiction) and still so today. An artificial person cannot possibly exist on truth, and the present systems still depend on it. (Just being helpful) Truth has no need for religion, falsehoods do.

Knowledge trumps faith and I'm not a Theist

Lies are nothing more then falsehoods searching for the truth
