Barrack Obama offically out of the closet as an atheist
Well, this doesn't usually happen, but I have to admit that I was wrong. It appears that President Obama is indeed an atheist as claimed by many atheists, some on this board. I thought he was christian due to all the god talk, but it seemed it slipped out during a Canadian interview.
Johnson: During these times, religion has played a significant role in American politics. Many, if not all, of the presidents were very Christian, such as Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Jimmy Carter etc... Many have stated praying on key issues during their term. Have you ever done anything like that? Do you pray often?
Obama: No. I my mother was religious, my father was a Muslim, but later converted to an atheist. I grew up skeptical of religion. I acknowledge and even respect the influence it has on others, especially in our great nation. I know that it brings great hope and comfort in the time of need. However, I do not believe that there is a God watching over us. I think that our fate is in our own hands. Which is exactly why I want to move America forward especially providing affordable healthcare and restricting firearms purchases. I think our politicians need to work together as a team, as there is no divine safety net that many others hope and wish for.
emphasis mine.
I found the excperpt from a Canadian magazine and re-typed it here. Unfortunately, they do not publish all articles online, and I couldn't find it. It was in the March Issue, so it's recent.
Part of being rational is admitting you were wrong. Since I rag on everybody to be consistent in their logic, I concede defeat and admit that Obama is indeed an atheist.

Sorry, I had a typo in the OP since I had to type it by hand.
Should be: "No, I do not. My mother was religious...."
Not only is he an atheist, he's satan too!

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

That's kinda what I was thinking when I read this.
“It is proof of a base and low mind for one to wish to think with the masses or majority, merely because the majority is the majority. Truth does not change because it is, or is not, believed by a majority of the people.”
