Don't mess with a missionary man.. I'm fighting a "flood"-ing

   Don't mess with a missionary man . .

Oh, I am experiencing flooding. Would this have anything to do with comments I made about the 'flood'?

p.s. -- Kicker is though I am making light of it; it's not  actually of  a type  to have a sense of humor about,  in I'm not kidding about the flooding part.

That was fun.  Mmmm.... flooding from the local river or from broken pipes?

Coast of Oregon and Washington are pretty damp in spots - but it is nothing unusual for this time of year.

Work on the levee has been confined to my several acres, the surrounding area is fairing better than my property. It's affecting "my property", technically Grandpa's property. Broken pipes would be a breeze to take care of, instead of this. Flash flooding (of a sort), where there's no record of it. Yeah, The weather has been very unseasonable the last two years.  Global warming predictors indicated an increase of droughts and wildfires, heavier rainfall and a greater subject to flooding as it tends to destabilize (the patterns). I noticed a unusually heavy rain is causing the problem, in the area that needed the rain. Something you've witnessed where you used to live, the down pours which would lead to flash flooding. Creeks and rivers weren't all that high. Thing is, I am not in any area of the country that experiences this sort of thing ever, not this type of rain-fall. Strange. I have made more than one trip to the Home-Center picking up liners, then, lugging around sacks of sand and to no avail.

Frustrating, I can empathize.

Yeah, flash flooding in southern AZ is no joking matter, but everyone used to know where were the likeliest places for flooding.  Here, in Portland, I'm on a nice high hill.  There is a creek a few blocks from me - but very much down hill.  I used to make the realtor laugh when we were house hunting.  "Does the house require flood insurance?  Where is the nearest creek/river?"

The prediction for global climate change has always been for destabilization of known weather patterns.  This is much more devastating than a known gradual increase in temperature.  You can't farm intelligently if you don't know from year to year if you need to plant drought or flood tolerant crops as you can not predict what the summer will bring given what is going on in the spring.  Cool weather or hot weather.  Frost days or no frost.

Hang in there.  Try to stay warm and dry as often as possible.
