Rich Americans benefit most from Bush tax cut deal

Mod edit:

Wow! Rich people have more cash than people who have less cash. I shall alert the press immediately.

In other news, stoves are hot and moving buses hurt when you stand in front of them. Also, the OP is a stupid spammer who occasionally starts a new account here for no better reason than to encourage people to buy the crap that he is selling.

What a shocker. NOT!These

What a shocker. NOT!

These uber rich are nothing more than fuedal kings masking their hording claiming "free market" to justify their slash and burn no rules atmosphere. Then the rest of the sensible public simply suggests rules and a decrease in pay gap and cost of living,  they cry like little babies that we want them to become Stalin   commies.

When will these assholes get it. No one who values the democratic west is nor should suggest getting rid of the free market. Abuse of power and monopolies of power are bad. Be it a monopoly of a political party, religion OR CLASS.

What we have in America is rule by one class and the monopoly of power by one class.

How does this class suggest that the tax cuts they are getting get paid for? They love crying about "do it on your own" but are the class getting the most welfare at the expense of the other two classes. They would love nothing more than our labor market have the same gap and standard of living as China and India. That is their idea of "competition".

Jefferson, hated, not all, but many big banks and hated many  big industries, he did not hate business ownership by itself. He hated the potential of "might makes right" and "money equals power". He hated monopolies of power and he hated exploitation. Anything in life that has a monopoly, a religion, a political party, or a class can exploit outsiders when there are no checks.

The problem with our free market today is that the competition IS not lowering prices or benefiting the consumer. It competition between attracting shareholders and CEOs and marketing. Our market has just become passing around money like bets at a vegas bookie.

If wages went up and prices went down, these very people who cry, "Do it on your own" would see that more people WOULD do it on their own and not turn to government. So I would suggest to the uber rich, if you want the middle and poor class to "do it on their own" THEN YOU TOO, NEED TO DO THE SAME. Otherwise when the cost of living is exploding and wages are not keeping up with the gap, then DONT bitch when others turn to government for help in protecting them from your lopsided monopoly.

Rehashing "trickle down" economics will do nothing but create the same bubbles I have personally seen from the airlines in the 80s to the COM bubbles in the 90s and the bank and car companies today. We need quality wages and a far less lopsided pay gap. And we need to MAKE THINGS HERE. We need to STOP using Wall Street like a casino.

No sane person in any westernized open market system wants a government owned economy like Stalin or Kim Jong Ill. But it is selfish and absurd to continue the "NO RULES" "MONEY IS THE ONLY GOAL IN LIFE" "EVERY MAN FOR THEMSELVES"

There has to be a point where one should be able to see that they have way more than they need and rather than hoard it, invest it back into the very people who do the work to make you rich. A  happy labor force is a productive labor force. If they have the means to pay their bills and have time to be at home with their kids, and can go to the doctor without worrying about it bankrupting them, they wont turn to government. If everything is allegedly cheaper and more efficient to do in the private sector, THEN MAKE IT CHEAPER by caring about people more than profit. AS THE RICH LIKE TO SAY, DO IT ON YOUR OWN.

I do not believe that there is a conspiracy by the rich. I do believe that their is a paranoia in the climate by the rich. I think right wingers like Limbaugh and Beck effectively sell people a utopia and that somehow cooperation and compromise is evil and the only way to be a moral decent human being is to be obscenely rich.

There was a lady out west who owned a printing business, who recently made the news. She could have fired her employees to keep her own salary. INSTEAD, she fired herself and put her salary BACK into the people working for her so that THEY could keep their jobs. She didn't have to legally do that at all, but out of all the people who had the means to do such, she saw what most at the top don't see. SHE is a business owner I can respect.

There is no script to life and suggesting rules to the road does not make one anti car. My only problem with our current system, isn't the free market, it is the lopsidedness and the monopoly of power. Imagine if those at the top cared as much as this lady does.

Freedom isn't a script and

Freedom isn't a script and happiness isn't a script either. Life is what you make it and what you may want isn't what others may want. I do not think just because someone has more than me that gives them the right to create a climate that turns me into a slave to work. NO ONE is talking about being lazy or mooching of government.

The more balance someone has in their life and the more affordable life is the more productive they will be while on the job. The less they have and the more tired they are, the less they are going to care about the quality of the work they do while on the job. Invest in your workers and make life more affordable and you will see more productivity and less dependency on government.

Fear is what prevents the top from doing this, not any real threat of Stalin communism. When Warren Buffet admits that things are lopsided as far as tax ratio, the rich cant deny what they are doing is destructive. A little inequity in an open market is needed to foster competition, too much and it creates the very desperation that causes the middle and poor to turn to government.

This is STILL bullshit

This is STILL bullshit because it is a short term solution which dumps the burden on the future. HOW IS ALL THIS GOING TO GET PAID FOR?

How about raising the tax on the rich and lowering it on the middle and poor. It is not that the rich cant afford it, it is that they don't want to pay more. It is BLACKMAIL! They threaten job cuts to protect their profit margin. That is not a free market, that is a RIGGED market via BLACKMAIL!

Those who have more should pay more, PERIOD! I don't want to hear some dipshit whine about not affording a third mansion when meat for someone making 7.25 an hour costs 4 bucks a pound and gas being over 3 bucks a gallon. CRY ME A FUCKING RIVER

The middle class and poor STILL pay a higher tax rate and the GAP between the lowest paid and highest paid is EXPLODING and it is because of the lack of introspection of the top. Our economy is becoming a free for all, not anything constructive.

I challenge these dipshits if they think the middle and poor classes are whining too much, to do every job in their company by themselves with no help. Otherwise accept the fact that other people exist in OUR economy and "might makes right" is bullshit and is destructive.

Thanks Gene, I get on auto pilot, especially with this issue. Everyone has their sensitive issues, and this is mine. I guess it is due to my past where I spent way to much time trying to be everything everyone else wanted me to be and no time being myself. Its not a matter of hating all rich people, it is a matter of jadedness in thinking those who don't have as much are worth less.

Thanks for pulling me aside and slapping me in the face. Still doesn't change my message though. "We are all in this together" IS NOT socialism. It is more like, "Get a grip, you are not the only class that exists or that should have a voice".

Now I will retract my fangs and craw back into my cave. FROTH FROTH FOAM AT THE MOUTH GERRRRRR GERRRRRR

Sam Harris on the subject

wrote a very elegant article - I realise that the original post was from a spammer, however Brian's responses were very interesting as I am not in the USA.

and this sentence really made me think "Imagine being safely seated in lifeboat, while countless others drown, only to learn that another lifeboat has been secured to take your luggage to shore..."

What Would Jesus Drive? Well, God preferred an old Plymouth, "God drove Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden in a Fury"; Moses was said to ride a motor bike, "the roar of Moses’ Triumph is heard in the hills", while the apostles would carpool in a Honda, "the apostles were in one Accord".

LOL.

I don't know who did the moderator edit, but I do love their sense of humor.

Well Harley, that would be me. Generally, I don't delete whole threads if some discussion ensues because that is a buzz kill to those who have posted.

As far as where I stand on taxing the rich: Sure, I have no problem with the idea that rich people should probably pay something more than us regular people. However, the more we tax them, the greater the incentive for them to pay expensive accountants to minimize what they have to pay.

Seriously, there are lots of people who make small money and a small number of people who make lots of money. As a matter of fiscal policy, soaking the rich will not mean that more money comes into the government. It may be a crying shame but cry me a river.

So the Bush tax cut was based on the idea that everyone was over taxed. We will give money back to people in proportion to how much they were overtaxed. So yes, the rich got more money than the regular guys.

Welcome to Canada, where you can pay as much as 50% in tax if you're rich.  The majority pay 35%.

It must be horrible for all those people living in a barren third world nation, fighting over the scraps left by their dictatorial overlords.  And all that damned syrup, getting in your hair, down your pants...

Sorry, had to get that out of my system.

Everything makes more sense now that I've stopped believing.
