South Africa formally invited into BRIC

Being from South Africa I'm pretty happy about it, I cannot help but think it was a political move though. Really makes no sense to include South Africa when you look at the other members.
So it's Brazil, Russia, India, China and now South Africa.
Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
No animal shall wear clothes.
No animal shall sleep in a bed.
No animal shall drink alcohol.
No animal shall kill any other animal.

More importantly, would they ever include a country that would mess up the acronym they have going? BRICD just doesn't have the same ring does it?
