Haha! I did a thread not too long ago asking the same question. I was told basically it shows who has a life and don't.
If all the Christians who have called other Christians " not really a Christian " were to vanish, there'd be no Christians left.
We might someday have a way to redeem them, but don't hold your breath, I said the same thing 2 years ago.
