Correlation between Atheist/theist and educational level
A little help here. I'm having a chat with some theists who seems to think that we can never be rid of religion. I'm sure I've read articles, studies and scientific evidence of the correlation between education and Atheism. Or to put it bluntly, dumb people believe in god.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks, but I'm really after a conclusive report. One of those similar to the anti-gun report that actually converted John Lott from anti-gun to NRA registered, gun toting 2nd Amendment lover.
I know it's a lot to ask (although you are Ms. statistician) but there must be something. Did you happen to click on the link I provided? It's fully of sources that I'd find tough to accept. Not a large enough pool etc.
Oh, and isn't I.Q. a subject still out for review?

abu, the link you posted and the one from pineapple are two of the best I know of. All my research in this area I haven't seen anything better than the two links already provided.

I am sure you are smart and you seem like a nice person. But just like I go after Caposkia(sp) and FS and even Capt Pinnaple's pantheism, I see you as being in the same boat with your claims as well. Liking something and being smart is still a separate issue than being able to demonstrate what one claims.
Newton most certainly was a smart person, but he also bought into alchemy. His smartness did not stop him into believing false things.
I think Plato was smart too, but that didn't make the Greek Gods of the time real. The Egyptians were master builders but that didn't make the sun a thinking being.

Is the intelligence correlation involving fundamental religious beliefs, liberal religious beliefs, or religious people all together? I've met some Theists who seemed open minded, but they weren't fundies. I've been disappointed by some Theists who don't even know their own belief.
