The punishment for a female apostate is typically imprisonment.
Where I would be leery of returning her to the loving home of her family is the situation where they decide she has bought dishonor to the family. Recently moslem honor killings have become more fashionable in the West.
The end result; if she's returned to her family will be her death, sooner or later. She may be shipped out to stay with family 'back home' in the ME and then dealt with.
How can not believing in something that is backed up with no empirical evidence be less scientific than believing in something that not only has no empirical evidence but actually goes against the laws of the universe and in many cases actually contradicts itself? - Ricky Gervais
