atheist vs islam debate
hello I no I don't post often(or at all) but I need a bit of help, so any way ware I cum from there is a lot of Muslims I don't just mean the middle east Muslim f undies but also Muslim converts how they are having a meeting in my town and I have been asked to speak in a debate with them now thay are not your tipical theist they not stupid they have degrees and genroley dont fall for the tipical traps theist fall in to . (it is verey refreshing talking to them )
but ass I am alone and they are many I would like some help so can you point me to some treads or webs its that can help or just give me some pointers

I noticed your spelling handicap, you might try reading the daily newspaper and copying their spelling habits.
As for the 5 W's, where and when is this debate; local atheist might be willing to show up and help out. Why were you asked and not someone else; give us some back ground of yourself and the event.

hi thanks well in my home tow i know a lot of pepol im my town and I question most things I have made a lot of fiends Theist and non Theist. Mohamed is one of my good friends and its his group that have asked me to debate with them .
I was chosen because I can argue well
they are people that were looking fore god and found it in islem (so they expect me to know all the answers ).
It will happen next week Wednesday at 5:30 I don't no any locals atheists I have met one.

Well first off, the easy fix for your spelling issue would be to do what I do. Make your posts in your word processor and then copy/paste then into the forums. Apart from that, it seems like you are fairly good with the English language.
As far as getting into a debate goes, I would advise you to know as much as possible about the other side as you can before getting down to brass tacks. Do whatever research you can ahead of time so that you stand a chance of knowing where the other person is likely to go.
Does your opponent have a youtube site or myspace page? A blog or some published articles? Seriously, you really only stand a chance at taking them down if you know what they are about. Absent that information, you really can't expect to be well prepared for the debate.
Seriously, no one group has a lock on either being smart or being dumb. There are moslems who are as dumb as the worst that x-tianity has to offer and there are those that can go point for point. Then there is the Suni/Shia thing. I don't exactly follow that one but I get the impression that it is roughly equivalent to the Catholic/Protestant thing.
Also, you should know that the real difference between x-tians and moslems is not the huge gulf that you might think. The fact is that to many of the most educated of moslems, such material as the lord's prayer and the nicene creed are considered to be the very essence of moslem thought.

Basically, you are heading into complex territory and if you do not take the time to learn the ground on which you seek to do battle, then you might as well not bother.

I am reading all that i can but the khoran is a big freaking book and its not published I English.
they don't have any form of social networking site.
as fore the Suni/Shia thing there are more forms of Islam than forms of Christianity.
Now they are a good form or Islam they call for the end of fundamentalism and preach peace.
