To reflect
About this moment
Of great effect
A dark skin man
Took the reins
Putting to pasture
Hateful rage
Special bathrooms
Separate schools
Tears in eyes
On this day
Not forgotten
He pulls us up
Reminding us all
Of E-Pluribus Unum
Give me a moment
To reflect
OnAlabama
And men in hoods
Give me a moment
To reflect
The mall once covered
With men in hoods
Give me a moment
To reflect
Now he stands
Our president
He spoke of Jews
Muslims and Hindus
He spoke to me
The godless too
He said we were
All citizens
A patchwork
Of diverse immigrants
He looked forward
Calling us all
To come together
And love to serve
Give me a moment
To reflect
It is really true
He’s our President
Bursting with pride
I breath a sigh
We finally removed
That nasty sign
