Community Service Day

Hi everyone:

How does a local community service day sound? If there are any atheists here living in Connecticut, we are trying to put together a community service day (basically organized by atheists, carried out by atheists) to give a better image of atheists. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Also, I think it would be great if something like this could even become national. Yes, protesting and what not is needed, but the public needs to see atheists in a more positive light. Hopefully it could slowly end the sweeping generalizations and prejudices.

Adopt A Highway

Minnesota Atheists already have this program, however it is just North of the cities. I'm sure other groups around the country have something going on. How about the one day in May for the blood donors, to contrast the day of prayer.
