new-b

Greetings and salutations.

I r Eso. You may know me as Kira on stickam.

I have been a proud atheist since I was 11. Of my own accord. And all have known since then, though "they understand me not; I am not the mouth for these ears".

I've been lurking on stickam mainly, though here I am! ^_^'

Welcomes!

I'm Loc, you may know me as..er..Loc on the forums

Ah I kinda envy your young atheism..but as long as you get there in the end I guess it doesn't matter too much what age you do it at.

Aye. I know of you already. I believe I also read your freethought-wiki deconversion just earlier as well.

24 is middle-aged now? Geez.

I hope you're nowhere near Youngstown. That place nearly destroyed my will to live. (A friend got married there.)

I am in Mount Vernon. Quite too near Youngstown.

This place is... stifling.

But, thanks for the welcome, and any and all to come. Much appreciated.

Ah! No you're not! You're a Scottish Pirate, and you live on the high seas!

(That's just a little foreshadowing, in case you get into a debate with a theist on the site.)

bruce springsteen wrote a badass fucking song about youngstown that pretty much echoes your sentiment.  it's on his "ghost of tom joad" album.

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

Yeah. I moved from Alaska to Elyria (just outside Cleveland). I find all of Ohio stifling.
