Atheism and the Blasphemy Challenge, a process to self-realization.

chazk's picture

Just a personal note from someone who is not religious, but very practical from a spiritual point of view. God, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Heaven, Self, Great Spirit, the Absolute, Atma, Allah, Yahweh, Tao and many other names attributed to God or the Self are the same thing and are interchangeable. No church with its stained glass windows, books, rituals, "Holy" figures and materials can take you to the Self. The churches believe that God is stuck in their institution or some "Holy" book and they claim that they know the way to God. That's where you find Satan, you know, the other guy, the keeper of darkness. The foundational knowledge of the churches is baseless. With all the religions in the world and millions of people praying one would expect this planet to be pristine and heavenly. It’s not. It's a convenient way for the elite few to control the many by turning everyone who follows the faith into mindless "sheeples". This is a very objective and destructive approach and has no value to a seeker of pure knowledge and wisdom.

You already own everything you want to know; all you have to do is to learn a technique to gain access to the source of knowledge, wisdom and the experiences. It's all within you, no where else. It's like accessing the cosmic hard drive. Once you have accessed that cosmic information, anything you come across will either confirm what you believe or disproof what you belief. This is very practical and keeps you out of the cesspool of lies and other misinformation. You may want to experience this for yourself especially if you are an avid TV watcher or news paper reader; put all that aside for six months or a year and then return to it, you will be amazed at the constant bombardment of misinformation and lies that keeps you focus outward and not inward.

It's the experience of the Self you want and once you have experienced it you know what it is you are experiencing. By listening to the Blasphemy Challenge I get the feeling that all of the challenge is a process of shaking off, a purification or fighting the lies of the artificially induced educational process that society seduced you with right from birth. From their point of view you are a problem individual plus a few other nasty words or an atheist especially if their god is involved. But, something profound and wonderful is happening to you, as you shake off the ignorance you will discover you are not only flesh and blood, you are multidimensional. You have a soul, which animates your body. The soul is connected to the Source from where it originates. Nature, the expression of God, instead of shunning you opens its arms embracing you. Blasphemy, is actually an important step towards self-realization. There are two processes constantly at work, an artificial degrading process, which maintains ignorance and darkness, and a natural purification process, which maintains enlightenment.

Atheism is also a process to enlightenment. Not believing in God means there is nothing to believe. What is God any way? Essentially God is nothing or empty, but in that emptiness or nothingness lies fullness, a lively dynamic silence, an unbounded infinite ocean of bliss from where all creation in the universe emerges.

The downfall of the artificially created churches with their long painful, complicated and confusing history is that they lack the simple natural techniques to initiate the self-realization process. The self-realization process is the self-discovery of the Holy Spirit or God. This field of God, discovered by modern physics, as the unified field or quantum field transcends space and time is ageless and immortal.

So, unless you are a naturally spiritual person, you can't get to the Holy Spirit no matter how hard you try. This is frustrating leading to fear, low self esteem, lose of self-confidence, anger and self-destruction. The key is to transcend and enliven the quantum field within you where the Holy Spirit resides. Ancient and modern seekers of pure knowledge, wisdom and experiences held by the Holy Spirit have successfully used and still are successfully using meditation as a tool to transcend to the Absolute. It's there you will find the Holy Spirit in the most simplest innocent unbounded state of being. Once you discover this field your body will react naturally favorably to that infinite energy. You will become more blissful, peaceful, friendly to the environment, more intelligent, more integrated with your environment, live supporting, coherent, confident, more youthful and you will know things that others don't know. Self-destructive and environmental destructive behavior diminishes. Once you discover the Holy Spirit you have an operating base from where all your actions, beliefs, knowledge, wisdom, perfect health, successes and creations emerge. The discovery of the Holy Spirit or the Unified Field within oneself is the direct subjective experience of what scientists are discovering objectively in their science. Who do you think will go further in life, the subjective experiencer with his/her meditation or the objective analyzer with their test tubes and particle accelerators?

No matter who you think you are or what label you believe you are, God's love, compassion, universal unboundedness is always there for you to take, mind melt or become one with. God is always waiting with open arms for his children to return home anytime they want. Self-realization is the readiness to return to the Heaven within you, the home of God, the Holy Spirit. If enough blissful people are returning home to Heaven through their spiritual practice, then the Heaven that is brought out from within ourselves is creating Heaven on earth. No physically being will come from somewhere in their flying chariot or descent from some mountain and wave a magical wand and say "let there be heaven", that’s a lie, you must bring Heaven out from with in you. That is the purpose or job of a genuine Holy Man/Woman or a Maha (great) Rishi (teacher) to teach you to do exactly that, bring the Heaven (the bliss) out from within you, the individual. Collectively these individuals can create a powerful heavenly peaceful influence in their environment. Heaven, peace and bliss are characteristic of a higher state of consciousness that can easily be developed within everyone.

Numerous scientific studies had shown the superiority of meditation over any other techniques used over the last 2000-3000 years. Prayer, contemplation, hope, dialogue and debates are too superficial to have any meaningful effect in creating heaven or lasting peace on earth. Look at the human history, it's barbaric with the average peace treaty lasting for only a few years.

While on the topic of the Holy Spirit, what is the difference between the churches “Holy Spirit” and the Holy Spirit of those becoming enlightened or the enlightened? Simply, the word "focus". The churches focus on Satan, evil, sin and coming calamities narrowing human potential by creating fear, stress and shocking individuals into a dumbed down state of consciousness and/or by producing a false sense of euphoria, while the enlighten focus on higher states of consciousness to develop the full human potential within everyone. What one focuses on grows in ones awareness. Heaven or Hell is a personal choice, what's yours?

Finally, the early American Christian Spiritual group, the Shakers, best explained the Second Coming of Christ. They became weary of this Christs ever showing up and after much debate concluded in their newsletter, the Shaker Manifesto, that there is no physical coming of Christ, as Christians were lead to believe only a spiritual coming of Christ by developing Christ consciousness within themselves and their communities. Unfortunately, the Shakers suffered the same fate as all other world religions, they were unable to maintain a transcendent to keep the higher levels of consciousness lively within their own consciousness, and slowly descended to the lower realms and into oblivion. This lower realm currently dominates our experience on earth today.

In my next blog I will collect together a few websites that document the benefits of meditation over the other practices that people have been doing over the last 2000-3000years.

Wow. You put into words

Wow. You put into words something that I have been trying to explain to my closest friends (who are Christian, by the way.) They have asked me what it is that I believe. All they see is that I am patient, kind, caring and happy and that I don't and won't attend church. I haven't normally talked about what it is that I believe (until recently). Wow. A glimpse into that black flame (fire in the head, Holy Spirit) is wonderful.

Thank you.

God is Nameless

God or what ever label people call the Absolute is not a brand name that people fight over.  God is nameless.  The moment a name is given to the nameless, something is lost.  If the label is accepted some ignorance is also accepted.  The experience of the nameless lies beyond the label , in the unbounded, infinte, lively transcendent.  The transcendent is the intelligence of nature, home of the constitution of the universe which houses the laws of nature.  The laws of nature govern the entire universe and everything in it.

Beautiful

Once again, your words seem beautiful to me. I wrote one blog on here and on myspace (a poem of sorts) that tries to convey what you a writing clearly. I often find that my own words lack. That's pretty much all I have to say...that I understood you and that I loved what you wrote.

Well said.  Some atheists

Well said.  Some atheists are keen to say "Yuk!" when they hear the words meditation or spiritual.  I want to extend my support to conversation about these very things.  There is much to learn from such practices as meditation.   Looking forward to your next blog

Not Anti Anything

With the failings and shortcomings of our artificial global community, nature is still mans best friend.

Thanks everyone for all your kind remarks. I’m not ‘anti’ anything. My personal experiences and observations have told me otherwise and have pointed me in the direction I'm going. Being ‘anti’ something is like being abscessed with this ‘God’ thing, it's very superficial and has little practical value for an intelligent person looking for better choices in life.

Contemplating Prayer or Meditation?

After surfing the Internet for scientific research on prayer and meditation I have to admit I’m a little confused with the information I found.

Is the belief in the effectiveness of prayer white washing scientific research? YES

Is the word meditation used to cover the ineffectiveness of prayer? YES

Are researchers who have never meditated in their lives compiling materials on the effectiveness of meditation? YES

Is junk science backing up junk meditation and prayer? YES

Is reliable research stolen from reputable mediation techniques applied to junk meditation and prayer? YES

So, where do we start? It’s relatively simple, do a weeding process. Where is the scientific research to prove this particular meditation or prayer works? Are the researchers of that particular meditation themselves mediators? Where is the added value to life, society and environment?

The research should be repeatable, demonstrable, universal applicable and most important practical. Life is short and you don’t want to waste your time doing something that’s worthless or has minimal effects.

Scientific research on prayer has produced mixed results and is not universally applicable. Prayer is mainly based on a belief that it works and not on science. It’s too shallow and doesn’t enliven the transcendent. The effectiveness of prayer can best be seen in the US. With millions of Americans praying every day, why did 9/11 happen, the Columbine School shooting , Oklahoma City bombing, the destructive hurricanes, the Middle East war? All these calamities are related to the quality of human collective consciousness. If prayer had any effect none of the calamities mentioned should have happened. From the research, my personal observations, personal experiences and the lack of positive effect in developing consciousness I conclude that prayer alone is a complete waste of time. Prayer does not enliven the transcendent to produce the needed coherence to promote the well being of the individual, society, and the environment.

Since 2001 the quality of life index in America and the world has gone up with the rise in consciousness. Do you think people who have been doing the same thing over the last 2000-3000 years with no significant positive effects suddenly think what they have is producing this positive effect in their environment? I don’t think so. There must be something else happening quietly to raise the quality of life in a nation and the world. This has nothing to do with government negotiations and dialogue, military intervention, hope, faith, religion, prayer, belief, opinions, contemplation, or a personal brand of meditation. This influx of creativity with the rise in consciousness and well being is seen periodically through out human history, and is a result of highly enlightened leaders quietly gathering large groups of coherent mediating practitioners together to produce that effect.

Meditation is unique in that it can be researched subjectively by diving deep within oneself and objectively by using the scientific method. The word meditation is used loosely and the type of meditation techniques used in some cases is not mentioned. Some researchers go as far as mixing the various meditations together under one word, meditation. Meditations are not alike. Some are more effective than others. With millions of people practising their own brand of meditation, mostly with individual benefits, where is the scientific research for the environment and rest of society? The extended coherence is lacking to produce the desired effect for the environment and to raise the fortunes and quality of life of a nation. Again one can ask why did the above calamities happen? One can conclude some of these meditations may be too shallow and/or lack any significant group participation to produce the desired coherence in the environment.

Just to back track a bit, the word meditation is extensively used by the media, I can only conclude they are talking about the most researched (over 600 studies) and most widely practised technique, Transcendental Mediation or TM. People ‘yuk’ meditation because of the misconceptions they have about the practise. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has taken great steps to dispel any misconceptions about meditation and to make it practical for the western lifestyles. TM is what I have been practising for the last 25 years. The experiences gained in meditation are subjective and personal manifesting measurable scientific reproducible psychological and physiological benefits.

I also want to add, since 2001,TM is probably the largest organised meditation in the world and is currently uplifting the entire world with its world wide groups of mediators and advanced practitioners. We definitely don’t want a recurrence of the misfortunes that have befallen America and the rest of the world over the course of human history. It’s time for lasting peace and the establishment of heaven on earth, and not waste time with processes that are not producing a positive effect in individuals, societies and nations.

The Return Ticket

Naming the nameless and worshiping that name is a guaranteed one way ticket to hell because of the gradual down shift in consciousness of the controllers and handlers of that name.  The name of God is simply an illusion.  Enlivening the transcendent through meditation is the guaranteed return ticket to heaven.
