The unexplainable mysteries explained.

OK, I live in the southwest part of new england. That sets up the location. Now let me set up the time and situation.

Back in the late 1970's, my older brother joined the local volunteer fire department. So growing up, we had an old style tube radio that would scream loudly when something important was happening.

Well, I do not know dates with certainty but a bunch of times I was woken up in the middle of the night because of an explosion. The fire department would go all around the area to look for the house that blew up but they never found one. That was around thirty years ago. I never paid a whole lot of attention to that but it was a mystery.

Fast forward to modern times...

A couple of years ago, I saw a show on the History Channel that finally dealt with what I had not thought about for a very long time. Apparently, during the Arab/Israeli conflict, the USA was sending SR-71 spy planes over the area to see what was going on. However, we could not get clearance from our allies to base them near the action.

Sure, they could outrun the then current missiles but that did not mean that they spent lots of time cruising at top speed. Based on what I saw on TV, a normal mission was to go from where I lived to the hot zone, do what they needed and come back. Apparently, it was an eighteen hour trip.

So the “explosions” of the 70's were really shock waves that were caused by pilots who were really to tired coming back to avoid causing them.

OK, that is a great story but where does it go? Well, the fact is that I have UFO stories in mind. Most of them are easily explained. However a few are not. The basic fact is that the “U” in UFO means that we really don't have a clue.

It does not mean that aliens are responsible for what we see in the sky.

Perhaps one day, we will get the explanation. Or we will not. Ether way, we ought not to expect that there is some special being out there who is going to fix what we have fucked up.
