The Rational Response Squad

Positive comments towards Sapient that help fuel his activism

We have two threads dedicated to as many positive comments as we have time to post.  The previous thread on this topic was here, and covered positive comments aimed at the Squad in general, which generally often referred to my co-hosts.  Now that my co-hosts have moved on to other efforts, I've started this thread of positive comments that help fuel my activism.  I'll post the positive comments from my email and from around the web as I have time, or see a particularly good one.

RULES OF CONDUCT FOR THIS FORUM

THESE RULES ARE NOT FINAL AND MAY BE EDITED AT ANY TIME.

=======================
1. Introduction.
=======================

Give us your nutters, your cranks, your theists yearning to be free, and in the spirit of Freethought, we'll do our best to oblige them.

The Rational Response Squad/No God Network will not allow a chaotic zoo in which troublemakers are allowed to prevent anyone from exploration of Freethought, nor do we want a stifling jail house, where freedom of speech of not encouraged.

These House Rules outline a minuscule set of conventions of good conduct that aim at fostering a friendly, open and stimulating atmosphere crucial for the kind of forum we would like to preserve that includes a consistent framework for dealing with destructive shenanigans.

The GREAT BIG thread of what helps keep us going!

There's very little more rewarding than to see th appreciation we get from people for responding rationally to irrational emergencies. This thread we'll post many of the kind comments that have been said about us. If you have your own kind comment please feel free to leave it for us. Quote:

RATIONAL RESPONSE SQUAD:  YOU GUYS ROCK.You should see if you can get Lee Strobel on your show. 90% of the Christians I debate with tell me he's the dude. I decided to do some research and read "A Case For Faith" and was horrified. That book is nothing but claims without citations or references.I would love to see you pick his books apart.Keep up the great work, and if I can be of any help, let me know.  Quote:

Jean Chauvin IS Rational Response Squad

Hello,

Let's be honest, before Jean Chauvin came on rationalresponsesquad.com this site was in a slump. Donations were down, and nobody was really interested in this site. It was kind of boring.

Then, when Jean Chauvin came on this site, donations started coming in. More people joined and donated. Even BobSpencer1 became a high donor admin, all because of becaues of Jean Chauvin's influence.

So in honor to thank Jean Chauvin for all that he has done, I recommend that we give him a monthly portion of the donations. And we give him a badge of super awesome person.

A more fitting badge would be:

"The Reason for the Success of this Site."

So Sapient and others, let's get to work and honor this radically intelligent awesome person, Jean Chauvin for all that he has done for this site.

Let's thank him for your new car, or IPAD that you bought because of his presence on this site.

For Jean Chauvin, IS rational response squad.

Respectfully,

Jean Chauvin (Jude 3).

Their worst nightmare....

Not that it's not apparent that they're desperate to try and stand 'toe to toe' and that they're willing to try and fight out of their weight class, but you can see that they are 'conditioned' to simply 'See red'  when a person too intelligent to join their cult, comes along, or is simply living their life oblivious to their fears.

I found this quote which appears to belong to Martin Luther:

"When the devil wants to cause offense against the true doctrine and faith, he does not do so through insignificant people, who do not rate highly with the world, but through those who are the very best, the wisest, the holiest, and the most learned."  Martin Luther

So, it's actually a backhanded compliment when they come nipping at your heels.

If that's any consolation...

If God exists, then she must be an atheist

Let's strip away the religion, scripture, etc... and start off with the immutable laws of physics. I personally agree with Hawking that the laws of physics came from nothing and nothing can violate those laws. But for the sake of argument (and to be  facetious), let's examine the notion that a God created the laws of physics which culminated in the big bang and after 15 billion years, us. Such a being would not believe in a higher power. Otherwise that being would no longer be God. All this being would believe in is its own existence and the sequelae of the laws of physics ie. the universe. This being would have to be an atheist no different from us. We accept our own existence and the universe governed by physical laws.

So, if God exists then we should welcome her with open arms (and open legs maybe?) to Rational Responders as a fellow atheist.

Sincerely,

Intelligent people less likely to believe in God

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2111174/Intelligent-people-less-likely-to-believe-in-God.html

Not exactly the most shocking news of the week.

It seems that the critics have a point, however, when they say the test methods are flawed.

But that's not what's funny here. The reader's comments is.

It just goes on and on with that-which-you-can-expect-from-this-kind-of-discussion.....
