Who represents Atheists #1? [Kill Em With Kindness]

 Hi there,

I've become very interested recently in hosting somewhat of a debate/conversation between two great thinkers. One Atheist, one Theist.

If you're an Atheist, you can help me out. If there were a debate between two thinkers on the following topics, who would you recommend to represent the Atheist side of things if it could be anyone living?

 - The credibility of the Bible as a historical document vs. The Bible as narrative stories, myths and legends.

 - The credibility of the Gospels as historical eye witness accounts vs. The Gospels as myths and legends.

 - The Anthropic Principle.

Also, if anyone knows of any Atheist groups in New York City that host, or would be interested in co-hosting such an event, could you name a few? Thanks everyone!

Richard Carrier, Robert Price, or Rook Hawkins

Deluded God or Hambydammit.

 Thanks, Brian!I look

 Thanks, Brian!

I look forward to setting this up - I was considering a while back trying to get in touch with Rook Hawkins to find out whether or not he would be up for debating someone publicly on the issue of the Historical Reliability of the Gospels, but then I heard he doesn't to public debates, is this true? Does he just do internet debating or would he be up for a public affair with a moderator and audience?

Rook, if you're out there - let me know!

He'd do a public debate if it was convenient enough and he could get travel expenses plus a small fee.  Anything within 30 minutes of Philadelphia, and he'd do it no problem.  It also depends partially on who he would be debating, and the debate format, but that would likely not be an issue.

Because it's much more convenient to fit into a schedule, internet debates are always our preference.
