MIT Education for Free...
Well, sorta. I invite anyone to take a look at MIT's OCW, OpenCourseWare, where they have course notes, syllabi, assignments and exams, for almost every single class they offer.
The real beauty, however, is in the courses that have video lectures. Ever want to learn about mechanics, electromagnetism, solid state chemistry, differential equations, computer systems engineering, etc. from an MIT professor? This is your chance.

I have been visiting that site for over a year reading and learning. Great post.

Dear OP,
I owe you several sexual favors.
Thank you,

I couldn't agree more. It would lead to improvement of eduation as well... more users of the material make for more feedback.

Holy fuck, I can't believe how much is here on this site. Is anyone here going to try and go through a course? Maybe a few of us might go through the same one, and compare notes?

I would but I'm a junior EE taking 16credit hours next semester.
Two classes have labs :S.
I'm really interested in some of their philosophy classes, though.
They might inspire me to dig up some reading I have negleted.

I sit through this at university, do you think I want to do it in my spare time? Grant MIT is better than the one I go to. >_>

I have used MIT OCW as a guide to set up independent study classes. I was able to get credit but I had to pay the fees at my university.
Other students I know have even used the video lectures in their curriculum proposals to the school to get credit.

I'm attending a university in Germany right now and the MIT courses have been very helpful from time to time. Its surprising, for me at least, how clearly the professors bring their classes across. When I think of MIT, I imagine hours after a class trying to make sense of it all; but that isn't the case.
I would also recommend the UC Berkeley webcast courses. There seem to be many more webcasts there as by the MIT site.
