Hey, old is new again. Past few years a lot of rock bands have been reaching back (at least into the 1960's) for inspiration (or material to copy depending on your point of view).

Anyway, I love old Rock 'n' Roll / R&B stuff, and I'm only in my mid 20's.

Mr. Peculiar -

Mr. Peculiar - Mind-dala.   Are their any other psy-trancers here?   I find the Trance scene in the UK home to a large number of free-thinkers and atheists (virtually everyone I know) possibly due to all the mind-expanding drugs

Even though John and George

Even though John and George have passed on, the Beatles still rule at my house.

Now that Paul is single again, could someone please send him my number?  I still have a crush on him.  Eye-wink

The almighty King

The almighty King Diamond!  Listen to his album The Eye if you haven't, it's quite an incredible album, and quite anti-religious, although most of the story is true (other than a subplot about a magical necklace), including the events described in the lyrics below, unfortunately...

The night is black,

Seven figures walk

The streets of Louviers

Picard is one, another

Two are priests, and then

The nuns, going to

The meetings, held in secrecy

Evil company, full of secrecy

Again and again…

The room is dark,

Candles on the wall

They’ve been here before

The Christian cross

Is hanging high above

The altar of God

Madeleine is at the gate,

Hazy feeling in her brain

As the strangers come in to

The meetings, held in secrecy

Evil company, full of secrecy

Again and again…

The strangers brought

The sweetest little child

But something’s wrong

The baby cries,

Someone here will die

And now the nuns pray

The meetings, held in secrecy

Evil company, full of secrecy

Again and again…

Madeleine and the other nuns

They hold the infant up to the cross

As Father Picard and the priests

Approach with hammers and nails

There’s no more to tell…

Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade

Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade Fire and Fugazi were on the list today.

How do you listen to podcasts at work?  Do you just download them?  I wish I could do that.

Yeah, I download the podcasts to my ipod and just put one earbud in and listen to them all day.

Minor Threat is great!  That was the first band I ever really got into (drove my mother bonkers).  I think my favorite song is 'Good Guys don't Wear White' or something like that.

Ok dumb question - how do you download a podcast to your iPod.  I'm still new at this whole iPod thing.

It always starts innocently

It always starts innocently enough. Then two months later you realize you have the longest thread on a forum based on what people are listening to at that moment. That's about when "what are you watching" and "what are you playing" show up. Sometimes before. Far be it from me to stop the insanity, however. Smiling

Currently, I'm listening to all the Less Than Jake albums I have. They're coming here and playing for free this Saturday! Must be prepared. Pezcore is the best album, no doubt.

Feederz:   Jesus We

Feederz:

Jesus

We nailed you to a cross, but you're still a fucking pain
Dead 2000 years, still can't get it through your brain
You're just a worthless corpse, you're just a pile of shit
Give me a couple of nails, and I'll ventilate your pit

Jesus entering from the rear
Fucking you in the ass
Just another faggot
In just another mass

We won't take it any more, we just won't take that trash
You're another stupid martyr with another rectal rash
We won't take you in the butt, we're just waiting for the when
We've got a lot of nails to do it to you again

You thought it would be cute, you thought it would be fun
But wait 'til I split your shitter with a soldering gun
Jesus on a plate, Jesus a la carte
Jesus under glass, just another fucking tart

W00t! Great taste in music.

Last song I listened to was The Serpentine Offering by Dimmu Borgir. Off their latest CD, In Sorte Diaboli.

The video has a very anti-religious theme.
