Atheist poetry corner

I recently read a post from Brian37 that contained a poem, and MrRage replied that there should be a board for that. I heartily agree, so I will at least start a forum for it. I thought general convo to be the appropriate spot to do it. I'll get the ball rolling with the lyrics I wrote for a song called "The Darkness of Godlessness". Keep in mind that it was originally a song, so I've cut out a bit so it reads better as a poem, basically, I'm just posted the verses only. Also remember, that I am a death metal singer/song writer, so it may seem a little aggressiveEye-wink The first verse is aimed at Christianity, the second at Islam, the third at Judaism and the fourth at Satanism. The entire song is a part of a metal opera I'm working on. Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing others work!

Unjust is your god
Uncaring is he
A man without sin couldn’t possibly be
To blame those fairer
For all of our sins
To lay that on her is an unfair burden

Unjust is Allah
Compassionless he
Considering humans to be property
Decreeing that all
Other common creeds
Are infidels, blasphemers, and death do they need

Unjust is the god
Of the six pointed star
To single out only one race above all
And chosen you’re not
But lucky you are
Ridiculous you all do look from afar

Unjust is your lord
And selfish is he
Preying on the disenchanted and weak
Powerless you
And powerless he
Only has power of lies and deceit!

hellfiend666 I enjoyed the

hellfiend666

I enjoyed the poem. You are a talented writer. Granted, the only thing I know about poetry is that more people write it than read it. But with that said here is a poem I wrote about religion. thanks

Please stop straining the boundaries of credulity

and while you're at it

stop writing laws, stick to eulogies

God, I don't understand the infatuation

Moses parted the sea

just like religion divides nations

What do we have now that we couldn't have without it?

Peace, love or brotherhood

I really doubt it

It seems to me to cause artificial scarcity

of 'Holy land' and truth

and other things that shouldn't be

Like sexual frustration and genuine hate

and oppression of gays

we saw it early and spoke up too late

Now we're in your face with rational debate

call it atheist love

hoping one day you can relate

There are twists of time and space, of vision and reality, which only a dreamer can divine
H.P. Lovecraft

You read one of my poems and you didn't vomit?

Anywho, I just got inspired just now to write one about the dumbass video game.

The "J" Box, By Brian37

The pulpit

Has fallen from grace

It's old marketing

No longer has a place

Jesus has his focus groups

To indocrinate the young

Give them a game controler

Isn't arrogance fun

Up and down

Left and right

Press the buttons for points

Killing for the after life

Falwell is not in vogue

Rap is what now sells

Busta ryme for Jesus

Is how the game is played

What genus this is

Fancy marketing

Morphs like ciggarette companys

Competing for the young

What will Wii

Think of next

A "Quran" concole

Selling Jihadists?

They have all adapted

Using focus groups

Shouting from the rooftops

We must protect our myth

To what cost

Do we use Toys R Us

To sell religious division

Over comic books

The "J"Box

Is the same

As Jihadist marketing

Both will seek the young

For future body bags

And daddy sits upstairs

And enjoys all this mess

So youth can kiss his ass

And distroy humanity

It is McDonnald's marketing

Applied to religion

Controlling spongue like minds

Retarding critical thought

These are wonderfull toys

Full of razor blades

Religiously bleading their neighbor

For only a few get saved

I blaspheme this tactic

For I see it as tragic

To expose it for what it is

Sick marketing

The controler

Is not a toy

And sacrafices the young

Over a stupid lie

The "Q" Box

Will be a rival

While Yahwey propaganda

Seeks the same survival

But in the end

The parents who teach them this

If it ends the needless division

I will always bitch

Our kids are not toys

And life is not a game

There are no Muslim or Christian Children

They are all the same

For their sake

I expose this slick campain

Creating future killing machines

All labels should refrain.

Alright, I'm no writer, but

Alright, I'm no writer, but I'll take a stab at it.

That is snuffed out by their hew

We are many
But not so much as any
And are divided in our cause
So, still they advance
And change not their stance
Dictating our rights and laws

Faith is their way
And rarely do they sway
For reason is their path to sin
So hated we go
Since the truth is what we know
Despised, even by our kin

Not mine but I just spotted

Not mine but I just spotted this at ffrf.org on the page about the Atheists in Foxholes monument:

(by Alice Shiver)

Atheists in Foxholes

Atheists in foxholes, some say they are myths,
Creations of the mind who just don't exist.

Yet, they answered the call to defend, with great pride.
With reason their watchword, they bled and they died.

They took Saratoga from the British crown,
Secured America's freedom at the Battle of Yorktown.

From Sumter to Appomattox, fields flowed with their blood.
When the cannons grew silent, the flag proudly stood.

From the Marne to the Argonne, in trenches and tanks,
They defeated the Germans -- the whole world gave thanks.

They were bombed at Pearl Harbor, fought on to Berlin.
Many freethinking women served along with the men.

Still war keeps erupting -- Iraq, Bosnia, and Kosovo.
Where is the peace that eludes people so?

It is broken by tyrants who bear crosses and creeds,
That overshadow reason with hate and cruel deeds.

So atheists prevail until your work is complete.
Mothers mourn, children cry, and bigots plan your defeat.

By air, land, and sea, you answer freedom's call.
Without god or faith, you seek liberty for all.

I'll throw another out

I'll throw another out there.  This, too, is a set of lyrics I wrote.  This time I'll include it in it's entirety, but again, it may come off as rather agressive:

"Heptagonal Hypocrisy"

 Institutions of destruction

Ruled by ego and perversion

Isolation brings corruption

Molestation their salvation

There is a better way, if you just choose to see

You don't have to be, content in misery

Mediating Divinity

They too are fooled

By the hypocrisy

Mediating Divinity

Heptagonal law

Thrust upon me

Stay inside the walls

Pray, or they will fall

Look only ahead

At the book that makes you braindead

Deprogramming of human minds

Enslavement for all of mankind

Forcefeeding all their righteous lies

That Heaven comes only when you die

Transparent pens their herded in

Shepherds, they dictate the end

Willingly all the sheep give in

To a near-sighted concept of sin

The stars know no mallice, the planets know no sin

The only cosmic evil known, is from the mind within

The wine within the challice, holds no savior in

The bread that's laid upon your tongue, it holds no salvation!

Any tennant that drives one to kill

Is not speaking the divine will

Any dogma that asks you to die

Is a force-fed self serving lie

Books are written by those who can be bought

From their ideals your faith has been wrought

The darkness of godlessness lets wisdom shine.
