Funny you mention getting

Funny you mention getting rid of the Bible...

I was on RichardDawkins.net, and I saw a post in the activism section about burning Bibles. I was like "Woa, talk about grabbing attention!" I'm a big fan of the "No publicity is bad publicity" principle, but there is something wrong with the message you send when you burn Bibles in that you advocate destroying literature.

I suggested that instead of burning Bibles, why not recycle them!? You could destroy and create at the same time! I could imagine Bible recycling drop-offs in communities. Whatcha think?

There's a fucking idea. As the tide continues to turn to reason, maybe next year or the year after we'll help run that campaign.

Another thing someone

Another thing someone suggested was if you really wanted to burn a Bible, burn your own. Make a video of yourself burning/blowing up/shooting/taking a dump on the Bible. Turn in into a contest. Best submission gets a prize. But gah... it's still a touchy issue

No no no, recycle is the

No no no, recycle is the best way to go. We could even market it in such a way to capitalize on the notion that we want to turn that paper into something more beneficial to society, and then list some current advancements in science. For example we want to turn our bibles into paper for usage by stem cell research laboratories.
