Does anyone out there use a straight razor?
I heard they are more common in countries outside the USA. I was looking into getting one but they are kinda expensive with all the required tools i.e. Leather Strop, Honing Stone, Badger hair brush. I guess I've had a hump for one since seeing Sweeney Todd Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

I'd probably accidentally slice my throat open if I tried to use a straight razor.
I use a straight razor on the Jehovah's Witnesses that knock on my door. How unfortunate that their religion forbids the receiving of blood transfusions..tsk tsk
But seriously no, I don't use a straight razor. My whiskers and I are planted firmly in 21'st century technology.
As one who does not shave i can't help you either.
, the triple and quad edge is the ticket,
a high quality electric is quick and easy ....

My grandfather had one, and only one his entire life (if taken care properly they last forver) He spent a small fortune on his (ok, back in 1943) 35 dollars, but it lasted till he died in 1991. so almost a full 60 years, never spent a dime on shavers or anything like that, saved him a bit in the long run.
i got one as a gift years ago and used it for a few years i now use triple blade bought razors just for it being easier
but if want to learn you my take a few nicks before you get it down but worth it if you don't mind the effort of up keep
