(I wrote this in

(I wrote this in response the bulletin I received regarding Lauren Green of Fox's biased news report about Air America)

This was a bulletin I received on myspace today. I strongly urge everyone to respond, regardless of your religious stance. Why? Because this is so biased it shouldn't be considered reporting or journalism.

Journalists are our correspondents, they are supposed to deliver information to us in a professional, unbiased manner. Yet more and more we see these reporters twisting stories around so they have a slant. Our news isn't about information anymore; it's about ratings and money. Most nightly news reports focus on the negative aspects of the day, the tragedies and accidents and deaths because that is what people want to watch. We've become addicted to sensationalism.

If we continue to allow our news stations and reporters to work in this way, how we will know what really going on out there? Who are we to trust to provide us with pertinent information? We have to demand that reporters and stations be held accountable for this nonsense.

Here are a few rules of ethics that jouralists are expected to abide by. You can find more information here:
     — Tell the story of the diversity and magnitude of the human experience boldly, even when it is unpopular to do so.
     — Examine their own cultural values and avoid imposing those values on others.
     — Avoid stereotyping by race, gender, age, religion, ethnicity, geography, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance or social status.
     — Support the open exchange of views, even views they find repugnant.

I feel that Lauren Green has broken some of these rules and should be held accountable.

You might remember Lauren Green. She was the one who as a "fair and balanced" news reporter gave Kathy Griffin a sermon in response to the "Suck it, Jesus" award speech:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296683,00.html

Lauren Green serves as a "religion correspondent" for Fox News Channel. Third runner-up for Ms. America in '85

Theologian extraordinaire that she is, now Green continues her early Halloween (even though it's the Devil's birthday) imitation of a cable news correspondent with this "highly objective" story on the new atheist radio program on Air America:

http://www.crooksandliars.com/Media/Play/22280/1/newsroom-20071009.wmv/

We were all outraged when CNN tried such nonsense a while back and brought about some positive change. WTF?

I'm sorry if I seem miffed, but I am. This post was to announce Dan Barker's new show on Air America. If your post is somehow related please explain.

Lauren Green's commentary

Lauren Green's commentary is on Air America. And her report is not unbiased in the least. Did the link not work?

Sorry Brian, if you think I hijacked your thread. Didn't mean to.
