Habeas Corpus, along with other laws, could be optional.

In one of the most chilling public statements ever made by a U.S. Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales questioned whether the U.S. Constitution grants habeas corpus rights of a fair trial to every American.

Don't know how to link it, but here's the url: http://baltimorechronicle.com/2007/011907Parry.shtml

I personaly think he's pretty clever for coming to that conclusion. It's really scary tho, cuz they could use that kind of logic in many other things too. Pretty soon all of our laws will be optional. I could see using that logic in arguements against religion though. I'd just like to know everyone els's thoughts on this issue.
