Logically, it shouldn't create more wars.  Monotheists always believe they have the one and only god on their side.  Polytheists recognize that the other side may have gods, too.

Unfortunately, I can't honestly argue that polytheistic societies have been less likely to go to war than monotheistic ones.

polytheism seemed to lead to less war.  if you look at old greece, they were all polytheistic.  they didnt fight over religion just politics and other "fun" things humans think of to kill each other over.

 i tend to give polytheism an easier time as mass killings in the name of a single god really spiked when monotheisms came around.
