A fox that was found sound asleep at the back of an Ottawa city bus is becoming a bit of a Twitter sensation.
OC Transpo tweeted on Wednesday that the fox had snuck onto the bus while it was parked at a garage for regular maintenance.
Transit employees couldn't help but snap a couple of pictures of the adorable scene.
The transit service reported that the sleepy stowaway left on its own after its nap.

i've read that foxes are comparatively easy to tame, but impossible to fully domesticate.

I doubt there are many

I doubt there are many mammals that are completely incapable of being domesticated. The domestication of dogs and cats didn't happen overnight. They've spent thousands of years evolving into the animals we see today, and some people would say they still aren't completely domesticated.
Noone alive today can describe exactly what the process of domesticating these animals entailed thousands of years ago. It may be impossible to domesticate a tiger or a fox, but there's no evidence to suggest that trying to domesticate the species over dozens of generations must necessarily fail.

 Perhaps mammals, with

Perhaps mammals, with their overall higher levels of intelligence, are more prone to domestication than the other lower forms of animal life such as reptiles or birds.   But mammals that are also predators might be a more difficult prospect due to their natural killing instinct and urge to establish a heirarchy through dominance.

Besides, who wants to test the patience of a 500 pound killing machine ?

That's probably why noone

That's probably why noone has tried it lol. Even though all appearences suggest dog domestication began between 13k and 30k years ago, and the fact is dogs are omnivorous, they are still capable of killing a human and do so fairly regularly. A pure predator, that was larger and faster and smarter, would likely have even more instances after a comparable amount of time. And the process of domestication itself would be exceptionally dangerous. I certainly wouldn't recommend the attempt, but I wouldn't quite classify it as impossible either.

Still, if I had to choose between a guard dog and a guard tiger, I'd definitely pick the tiger. A crow bar would be sufficient to take down a dog. Any dog. But a tiger? Fuck that. I wouldn't even be comfortable going up against a tiger with a gun. I'd pick the next house.
