GOP candiate claims autism and dementia are God's punishment

http://www.examiner.com/article/gop-candidate-claims-autism-and-dementia-are-god-s-punishment

Suzanne Atanus, Republican candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Illinois, claims autism and dementia are God’s punishment for abortion and LGBT rights.

Atanus claims that God is “angry” with the United States and has sent scourges like autism and dementia to punish the American people.

More at Link above.

Why can't this god be a bit more direct? Wild guess at cause and effect here.

Religion Kills !!!

Numbers 31:17-18 - Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

 Well, it is better than

Well, it is better than blaming vaccinations and causing people to die because of your ridiculous beliefs.

If, if a white man puts his arm around me voluntarily, that's brotherhood. But if you - if you hold a gun on him and make him embrace me and pretend to be friendly or brotherly toward me, then that's not brotherhood, that's hypocrisy.- Malcolm X

yeah, like that stupid bitch jenny mccarthy. what's even worse about that nut is that her son's doctors recently came to the conclusion that he in fact does not have autism, but some sort of neurological condition that i believe the article said is genetic. regardless, whatever he has could not have been caused by vaccines or any other external factors. yet that cunt has not retracted a single harmful piece of misinformation she's spouted over the years, nor has she issued any sort of apology, nor has she even (to my knowledge) so much as acknowledged the recent test results in public.

as far as i'm concerned, the only decent thing about that human piece of garbage is that her early playboy work initiated me into puberty. especially the photo shoot with the feathers.

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

Yes when a belief is rediculous it should not be called a poison because nothing bad ever happens. Except stuff like blaming gays and lesbians and bisexuals, or medicine or science.

Penn in his indtroduction of "God No" on page XIX, hard cover print, last line "But...god? There is no fucking god!"

Last page last chapeter of "God No", page 229 "We must stop glorifying faith. Fuck Faith".

Now if you count all the cussing and blasphmey, in that book, and had a nicle for every time, you wouldn't get rich certainly, but you'd probalby be able to fill a small piggy bank.

And this really isn't aimed at you Beyond, I actually brought your quote up because I agree with it. I am only using this to demonstrate to all readers that if someone is more concerned about cussing and blasphemy rather than the real harm you just mentioned, and rightfully so, their priorites are way out of whack.

I did enjoy his story where he invited a former Jew to eat out and they had their first bacon cheesburger.

as usual, "all readers" here agree with that. i don't know who has been offended by your "cussing and blasphemy," but it isn't anyone on this website.

Exactly. It's his strawmen, failure to read, and uneducated extremism that's the problem.

I guess none of this should surprise

any of us. The former christians, anyway. Believers insist everything was perfectly Jainist until the fall. Only then did viruses, bacteria, genetic abnormalities, etc, appear - and they did so as a consequence of Eve's actions in relation to the tree of the labelling of human behaviours. This titanic nitwit should be commended for his honesty. The absurdity of claims by christians and muslims are our best means of convincing the un-convinced that such beliefs are irrational.
