This one action is more powerful

This one action is more powerful than all the bombs, all the rounds of ammo and a million troops.

If every Pakistan and Afghanistan citizen would act with this courage the war against terrorism would end in a month.

Well the rest of the world

Well the rest of the world (most notably the US) would have to stop sticking their noses and guns into the middle east first, and that isn't likely to happen anytime soon.

My understanding is that the US is using local tribes to destroy al qaeda in Iraq; where they stick out like a sore thumb to the locals.

That's exactly the kind of

That's exactly the kind of thing that gave birth to al quaida in the first place. That group of pissants did less to the US in the last 50 years than US citizens do every year, and the US is wasting billions of dollars and thousands of lives hunting them down in a futile quest for vengeance that was already realised and can not accomplish anything else but misery for the people in the middle east and around the world.

Everyone needs to get out and stay out. They can handle it themselves, and better for everyone that they do. It might take decades and cost lots of lives, but it'll take less time and less lives than meddling will.

well, the reason why the US

well, the reason why the US stays there ultimately is israel. if everyone is to "get out" and let the middle east handle its own affairs, that is going to have to include israel. they don't belong, culturally or historically, so if the US leaves, they will have to leave, or face massacre. maybe not right away: they have enough resources furnished by the west to keep them on top of things maybe for another couple generations, but it will be a war of attrition, and the erosion of israel's military and economic superiority will be accelerating and unstoppable.

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

Well it's going to happen

Well it's going to happen anyway. The US won't be able to keep them going forever. Maybe they'll learn how to coexist before they force their own destruction.

One thing is certain, the arab nations aren't going anywhere. Europe couldn't handle them, Russia couldn't handle them, and the US can't handle them. They've kept going for a good thousand years throwing out one invader after another.

Maybe China can handle them, but as yet China shows no interest in trying. And I don't think they could do it anyway. They have closer concerns to deal with that they've yet to be able to stomp on.

I would have left Saddam in power in all honesty. When I heard they were sending troops in to Iraq I said, "oh shit. they will knock him out of power then all hell is going to break loose."
